Nice. I just ordered the US figures. thank you for the notice. these guys have Krag rifles, so they are part of the Army Infantry relief force. the Marines carried Lee straight-pull rifles, or what ever they could get after that, in the Legations.
Hi Madic,
Not sure the source of your note related to the Marines as carrying Lee straight pull rifles, the source I have gives them and the infantry all maning Krag-Jorgensen .30 cal magazine rifles.(Osprey Men at Arms Series - The Boxer Rebellion ). It aslo states that protecting the Legation we had 56 marines and sailors from the battleship Oregon and the cruiser Newark. As to the relief column the US contributed the 1st,2nd,5th,8th,9th,14th,15th,24th and 25th Infantry Regiments, the 1st,3rd,6th and 9th Cavalry Regiments, the 6th and 7th Artillery Regiments, the Signal Corps, Enginner, Medical support and 500 Marines and sailors from the ships of the US Far Eastern Squadron.
Cheers
