Boxes for P-38 and BF-110 (1 Viewer)

Brad..

I understand the difference with the aircraft themselves just focusing on the packaging inside. It seems to be rather sturdy and, works for the wooden aircraft and, Figarti's mixed medium aircraft so, could be an alternative for all aircraft produced across the board. its got to be better than the cut polystyrene which, I have never really liked.

Mitch,

Sorry I misunderstood your question. Although this is a question for K & C to answer, my guess is that the styrofoam is used because it's more secure. The polystone airplane boxes tend to get handled more as they are shipped from K & C to a warehouse, then to a dealer and onto a customer, whether director or handed over at a show. With the packaging used for the wooden warbirds, they are going from the Phillipines to K & C HK and then to the ultimate customer (the last by overnight mail). If they were in transit longer or handled similarly to a polystone airplane, I think the chances for damage would increase.

it should come in a box that you can be proud of

I've never been proud of a box. These items are hand made in limited quantities and have many man hours of labor put into each one. Pretty boxes diminish that to me...makes them look too commercial. Breakage I care about. A pretty box not at all.

I agree. The only interest I have in the box is the fact its strong enough to get the sets from A to B atrwork is a waste of money and time IMO I have never heard anyone say I will buy a set cause the pictures on the box look nice!!!!

I have had issues with some of Figarti products but never with their packaging. As a matter of fact, I recently purchased several pieces from their Reichsbahn series and they were exceptionally packaged. Just my 2 cents. And Peter Wang will definitely back up their products. I know this from personal experience.
