The Russians close in while the Germans put up fanatical resistance, among the defenders is one of the last Tiger I's in service with the German Army..............

A few inaccuracies with this one, specifically the park behind the gate; it was April and the trees had not yet begun to bloom, but sorry, I don't have trees without foliage on them at my disposal, so I did the best I could with what I have on hand. Other than that, I'm pleased with the result on this one..........

George mate, this is bloody epic! What an awesome display with plenty going on, love it!

Thanks Tom, glad you like it. I messed around with this one for awhile, kept moving the buildings around until I got them to where I liked them.

Someone asked me how I come up with some of my dioramas; great question. Sometimes it's from a wargaming scenerios booklet, sometimes it's from a specific battle. On this one, I was watching a documentary on cable about the Battle of Berlin and in the footage, they showed the Brandenburg gate and I dug mine out, dusted it off, did a bit of research on the internet regarding the area around it and the rest is history.................

That gate is a beauty, certainly the focal point to the diorama. You have created a great scene. Well done. Robin.

Thanks Robin, the gate is a beauty, thought about doing one in 60mm for my show table displays, but it would be gigantic............

Was wondering the other day when we would get the next dio. :smile2: The panoramic views at this scale are great. Where did you get that fantastic center piece, the Brandenburg Gate? Great scene George. Chris

That's an outstanding display George . . . . nicely done . . . .
:smile2: Mike

The Brandenburg Gate used to be available through a 20mm wargaming company called Britannia based out of the UK, it is long out of production, I was lucky enough to get one when they were available. I assembled and weathered it, then added the chariot on the top, it's a 28mm wargaming piece I found, looks perfect to me on top of the gate..............

Just one thing... I think the russians attacked from the "Tiergarten", not from the "Unter den Linden" street.
