Brian

You saved us with your BIG tanks, so now we can get a proper fit with our soldiers, Figarti and K&C have some nice Russians, but as usual all of the Russian AFV's they also make are too small to go with the figures.

FL Russian Figures are OK because they go well with FL, Figarti and sort of with K&C.

Get cracking !:)

Alex

Yes he could corner the market.......Some dont care about the Scale / Size issue, but I see more and more collectors / modelers starting to become aware of it. Once you take notice of the problem you cant go back.

I had Tanks from all manufacturers at one time, now most of my armor is TCS, because they are the only size that fits. I sold a lot of nice pieces from other manufacturers, but that is my criteria now and it helps shave down the collection. Before I realized the size issue I would have never parted with the aromor I sold. They were hard to part with, but I did it, and now I don't miss them. My collection is now becoming more and more uniform...I love it.

The only other pieces I have are those that fit with my smaller FL figures.

This works so well for me, I feel good shaving down my collection, which was getting out of hand.

I really like detailing and weathering the TCS stuff it responds so well. I am doing their Stewart now and it is looking good. I will post it shortly......The decals are not put on well so they come off easy. I have the decal set I had made and the options are endless now. Fun...Fun....Fun.

Many collectors / modelers have contacted me to do their TCS armor for them, but I just show them how to do it themselves, many are unsure of their talent to do the job, but once they dive in they have a blast. It makes me feel good to introduce them to a new facet of the hobby. With the little work you put in you end up with some of the best armor around.

Agree. We need Russian Armors produce the Collector Showcase way.

I would like to see some Russians from CS but, sadly for me CS now really gets none of my money. I still buy the LAH but, I think and its only what I think they have lost their attraction. They were superb with the first DAK releases SS and US troops and, their first Tiger I's were excellent as were the Market Garden Ranges the Stugs and Marders were and still are some of the finest AFV's produced. Since then only the Jagdpanther was of that standard for me.

On the scale thing again!! I would think this ''full size'' and all other descriptions of these apparently wonder scaled AFV's from CS are rather mute. Some have been 1/28th and some are 1/30th according to set standards of measuring

Not sure why you Guy's still continue to post as if CS have somehow re-invented the wheel they have not!! The Hobby is 1/30th by name yet manufacturers across the board play around between 1/28th and 1/30th Most hit the 1/30th regularly

Its about time chaps that we just dropped the notion that these larger models are actually 1/30th they are not and this has been proven time and time again by myself to Frank and a few in between

Basically, TG and K&C along with CS have the larger figures placed under the banner of 1/30th (we all know they are not 1/30th) so, for anyone to say that only specific makers soldiers go with CS AFV's is being disingenuous IMO they all work as they are all basically the same size. Scale differs slightly with Figarti and FL but, with no disrespect they are not what seems to be the issue with these endless but interesting scale posts. Everyone and their dog knows their figures work with all 1/30th scale AFV's from all manufacturers they are slightly smaller and offer the proportions that ''some'' require.

I think anything else about scale fit is just down to the interpretation and personal taste of the poster that does not mean that it has anything to do with factual concrete scale sizes that are unchangeable no matter how hard one tries.

Still think those who see a sea of change occurring can bang their heads as long as you want but these manufacturers are not going to change the sizes of the figures (the simplest way to create 1/30th harmony) Why don't they do this? Because more people prefer the larger figures and no matter how many we are told allegedly are wanting this new phenomenon sales will always dictate. If people really wanted 1/30th AFV's (which by the way most are doing now with the exception every now and then of CS) and 1/30th compatible figures they (the manufacturers) would have changed overnight.

No disrespect to CS but, they can do what they want in terms of scale as they limit their production to 300 and thus similarly like Figarti have a small demographic to please. That is why I believe they played around with the Tiger I (if you can't sell 300 Tiger I's in this hobby you may as well pack up!!) It does not mean that because they have done it with one and a few accepted that its the norm and a ''light bulb'' moment. I can name a number of recent AFV's that have been accurate to the correct measurements of 1/30th so, scale as it always has been from day one is an issue for CS. To praise this as something unique for collectors and what people want seems rather bizarre.

You are correct TGM - Figarti - K&C and TCS figures are for the most part the same size ( Lets forget about what scale they are I am just talking size ) and are to big for the vehicles produced by the same companies, but some given TCS AFV's are larger than the other manufacturers. These and only these are what I am talking about.

I have found the Tiger I, Tiger II, Sherman, Stewart, Raupenschlepper and a few others by TCS that fit this bill. These are what I buy. I hope their new Panthers are big also. That covers some very popular WWII pieces and I am selling or have sold everything else except pieces by various manufacturers that fit with my FL Figures ( A different animal ). A good way to reduce the collection.

Concerning the figures mentioned above. If you want to really get down to it and yes this is mostly preference and prospective certain ones can be a better fit than others. To me again TGM look best for various reasons. Most would not even notice or care.

And you are also correct this size situation will never be corrected, but I correct it myself by mixing and matching. A forum is to share info and I take this seriously, so I share my findings. Many collectors / modelers have e-mailed me, thanked me for my observations and find them to be accurate. It is a pleasure to be of assistance.

As I mentioned before this works for me and anyone reading this can take the advise or leave it..............It is their choice. I have no ties to TCS.

Alex, as I said before, I agree with you regarding matching TGM, TCS and K & C figures to TCS vehicles. As the more discerning collector knows, the 1/30 banner now covers a wide spread of actual sizes in figures and vehicles, and is therefore largely irrelevant.

The bottom line is that it makes sense to match the larger 1/30 figures to larger 1/30 vehicles because there are far more large 1/30 scale figures than smaller in the current Matt "1/30" section of the TS hobby.

BTW, by the use of the term "discerning" I am referring to those collectors that prefer more detail and accuracy than those collectors that are more into the TOY and or GLOSSY aspects of the TS hobby, no offence meant.

I would like to see some Russian armour from CS to as I like the prices and the quality is up there with the best. Chris.
