Hi Guys,
An interesting reaction with a few views apparently based on their personal thoughts about Oprah.

As I indicated the money does not go to Oprah / Harpo. It is to cover costs for 150 production staff and 300 audience members and you can bet they are going to be well taken care of down here. Travolta seems to be a fan of Australia and does a lot with Quantas which works well for him and Quantas.

I note nobody commented on the $3 million spent for one person to come here and play Golf so seems to be a double standard applying since it is Oprah. As a marketing idea and value for money in terms of worldwide exposure it is an absolute bargain. I understand that to have all the advertising time for two of Oprah's shows would be already be well in excess of $3 million. The publicity has already been huge.

Compare it to what some sportsmen get paid to endorse products.

Some tourism operators have been suffering a lot recently with low numbers of tourists and the economy etc and anything that encourages tourism affects a lot of businesses and jobs.

However no plans for the Miranda Kerr / Oprah exchange.

I also like The Daily Show and Colbert Report but family not so much.

Regards
Brett

Brett, I feel the same way about my family too.

Brett...

I would venture nobody mentioned the golf as its another painfully dull excuse for a sport and with the cricket on who cares????lol
