Thanks for posting. I have the Normandy versions of the recent sets, and I think they are all excellent. I have some of the desert releases in the earlier sets, and they do mix well with the K&C of the same/similar pattern. Something about the Normandy FJs really catches my eye though.

I have to agree these are excellent figures. I have all the Normandy versions and the winter set.
What is interesting is that they were great from the get-go!
Now we can use some plain riflemen versions to go along with the weapons sets.
Keep up the great work.

I got my sets yesterday. Beautiful. I like the bandage on the hand of the mortar set. Nice touch. No damages. However, when I tried to rearrange the guy with the pipe, I picked him up and bent the pipe. The pipe was ready to fall off, so I tried to reenforce it with glue and made a gluey mess. Dang!

A few of the parts on the TG sets are easily bent. They take some care in handling.

Here goes with my first post. I have received all of the Normandy FJ's and they are excellent. I am also hoping that some general 'grunts' are going to be available in the not too distant future. K&C are extremely compatible size wise and I would be very interested in hearing from anyone as to whether they believe the K&C Tropical FJ's could easily be transferred to Normandy so to speak, with a paint over for the pants and helmets (yes I immagine that is sacrilege to many).

I was mainly concerned with the camouflage on the smocks. I do note previous forum comments regarding the various camouflage versions, but I am interested in any comments on compatibility, from an aesthetic appeal and historical sense and if anyone has both to hand they may be able to assist.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum mate. Hope you enjoy yourself here.
Re the FJs, I'm planning on doing just that with some f the K&C FJs. I've got a few duplicate singles from the Crete FJs that I'm going to repaint to match the TGM Normandy FJs. Technically, they are close enough in uniform and equipment for me. I think the K&C Js have an early war 'bag' of some description which may have been unlikely later on in the war, and I believe that the K&C FJ Jumpsuits are of the step in to design, rather than the later war ones which unfastened around the legs, but other than that, I reckon they're good to go.

Cheers

Thanks for that Simon.

I had another look at the K&C figures on their site, that are currently being retired and it appeared to me at least, that the camouflage varies between them. About half of them seem to be very similar to the TG Normandy ones.

They're generally a bit lighter in colour than the TGM smocks. They TGM smocks are a sort of basecream / stone colour with a darkish green and chocolate brown pattern over it, whilst the K&C have a deeper beige basem with a lighter green and orangy/brown pattern. Both use a dark green splinter effect over the lot. There is a noticable difference when put side by side, but nothing a quick repaint couldn't sort out :)

The smocks are different patterns but i personally wouldn't repaint the smocks. Both of the types of K&C tropical FJs are suitable for Normandy if only the trousers were blue instead of tan!

The K&C FJs that are repaints from Crete are wearing the standard luftwaffe splinter pattern.
It looks to me that the K&C FJ that are new sculpt Eg Motorcycle Scout, Grenadiers are wearing the Marsh Pattern or Tan and Water jumpsmocks.
Those are great for Normandy.
