Thanks for posting Wayno old mate and brilliant work Bob. The only negative thing I would say about the RAAF pilot is that his skin looks a bit fair for the climate here in Darwin. Generally people that are outside a lot are either tanned, red as a lobster or burnt to a crisp up here and I think people in the services were pretty well much like that while stationed in Darwin during WW2. The colour tones on the figure is brillant just the same and the other figure is flawless.
Thanks fellas. A tad misrepresented as neither figure is completed. I must say that the WWI digger comes up well in the photos despite that it has little more than an undercoat and blocked colours. The pilot is still short a few 'layers' for those versed in painting techniques. These figures are a credit to the sculpter with highly defined detail (even the iris in the eye!) They are a joy to paint. Quite right about the skin tones Tom...definitely a work in progress though the sunburnt nose will be a challenge.
Bob also made great strides in painting the A.I.F Infantry Sergeant Bardia 1941 also a 1/6 Scale Naked Army figure, still much painting to go before it's done but already it's looking the Bee's Knee's.
