Britains ACW 6 horse Team Caisson Picture (1 Viewer)

I am trying to find a picture of the Britains ACW 6 horse team caisson and riders. If you have a color picture that I could review please post on Treefrog or email me at bigbeargreenboy@yahoo.com

Thank you,

Rick

Hi bigbeargreenboy,

Attached you should find five photos of my Britains ACW 6 horse team cassion and riders. You might notice the chains are not attached in these photos. I did not attach the chains for these pictures in order to more easily move the set to another location when my photo session was concluded.

I fear the quality of my photos is not the best. At any rate, I hope my pictures are helpful to you.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Nobody asked but Britains needs to make a team of standing horses for the limbers of the unlimbered guns in action.

What is the retail price of this set ?

I have always wanted to know ??

I'm not sure exactly Ron, I would imagine the same as the other set. However I think it is worth more now as I believe it was only issued for 1 year and you just don't see them much.

I bought my Union Set on Ebay - so I just don't know what was the retail listing price ?

Can anybody help here ? What was the listing price for these two Union and Confederate Sets ??

Also - when we they released ?

The Union set appeared in the 2002/2003/2004 catalogue.

The Confederate set appeared in the 2003 catalogue only.

Do you have both sets??

Hi Ron and Scott,

I have both sets and, given a little time, I may be able to identify the original retail price. Allow me some time and I will see what I can come up with.

Also, even though the Confederate set is listed in the 2003 catalog, my recollection is the set was not even available the entire year. It was rather quickly retired, which is one of the reasons you seldom see it. Fortunately, I was able to acquire it before it was retired.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

I believe the horses are the same sculpts for boths sets are they not. Even so they are both great sets. You are lucky to have them both Pat and I look forward to viewing the Confederate set as well.

Pat

That would be great - I think the price was around $299.00 - not for sure - just very interested.

Lucky you on having both - I only have the Union Set .... well at least for now until I get another chance a Confederate one :D

I am pretty sure the 6-horse limber set was about $230-$250 new (I am thinking $229). I should remember pretty well because I have 2 sets. I had one set fall out of a display case and get damaged some (mostly the chains breaking). I loved it so much that I ordered another while it was still barely available. You could find these sets for a couple of years, but I rarely see them on Ebay. I am definitely interested in selling the damaged set if anyone is interested in buying (just PM me). Most of the key items are in great shape (the wheels are a little wobbly but display pretty well and could be repaired).

I have a lot of great Civil War sets, but if I could only keep one it would be this one.

The Horse teams (Union/Confederate) originally retailed at 290 according to my records.

The Union Wagon set retailed at 220.

Tom
