Is anyone else having issues with the hinges on the Britain's barn doors ? It seems every time I open or close the doors the end of a hinge breaks off. I have had to repair three already. I have used super glue and epoxy, but they keep coming off. It is starting to become a pain. I'm ready to just glue the doors shut. It almost looks like the ends were originally soldered. I see bare metal when I scrap the paint off to do a repair. You can't soldier them now because they are glued to the door and it would probably melt the plastic.

I just got mine for Christmas, but it looks good thus far. In fact I've only had trouble with three Britains products out of the hundreds of figures and the few Buildings I have. I hate to hear that yours has been so plagued with problems. Hopefully someone here can provide you with the input you need to fix it for good.
Best,
Josh

I am sorry to hear about this. We had a handful come over that were not glued right, I thought I caught them all but obviously one has slipped through the net. Just in case, I had a few sets of extra doors made that have the hinges glued on better. I 'll send you some. Send me an email with your address details and I will make sure the horses don't get out! Email me at richardwalker@1st-gear.com.

All the best,

Richard

This is the reason I buy Britain's toy soldiers. Thank you for the excellent customer service and offer. I didn't start the thread to bash the product. I was only looking for ideas to fix the problem in case anyone had this issue.

to jump on a thread without be asked...and solve a customer's problem...

you gotta love it...

Richard is a square guy...he stands behind his product...

you cannot beat that kind of service!!!

Britains has always had the best customer service!

I just got an email from Britains customer service telling me that they were also sending the crew from "Ask This Old House" to install my new barn doors.

This also happened with one of my barn doors, which I did manage to fix but glad to know that this kind of customer service is there to fallback on! ^&grin

OK, if offering to replace my barn doors wasn't generous enough. The new doors arrived today in a big box. Why a big box ? Not only did Mr Walker send me brand new doors, he sent me two pairs of brand new doors plus a figure. Again this why I have been collecting Britain's ACW since they first brought matte figures out in 1999. Actually I bought my first plastic figures in Gettysburg over 20 years ago. This is great customer service ! I also just received my Fredericksburg figures today. If you collect ACW do yourself a favor and buy them. They are impressive.

Thank you Richard Walker
