Hello Can anyone tell me how the First Legion figures ACW Figures size up with William Britains??. I collect WWII KC and Britains ACW, The
First Legion figures are clearly smaller than KC, ( although i think you could mix without problems!!) I would imagine FL figures are (scalewise)
the same as WB...can anyone confirm this??, In any case Terrific work First Legion..Animation_Detail_Painting....All first class!!. I just might be adding some of your work to my Collection!!!

I have a very large collcetion of WB ACW figures and sets and have augmented them with some of the FL ACW figures. They go very well together and size wise match up perfectly. Here is a comparison photo I posted (post #13) a few weeks agon right after the Chicgo OTSN showing how the WB and the FL Confederates match up. I also have two of the FL dismounted Union cavalry troopers and they also match up very well to the WB dismounted Union troopers.

Hello Mike...Thanks for taking the time to answer my question, I checked out your thread and indeed they go very well together. Great pictures
as usual..I love your Dioramas and what you achieve with your figures!!..I am slowly amassing my ACW North + South forces (still in the boxes)
and i hope in the not too distant future to have the space to create a glass covered table-top battlefield. My figures at the moment are mostly
William Britains (Ken Osen) and a couple of sets Old Northwest Trading Company..(also Kens exellent work)...But I can see me in the future adding some First Legion figures to my collection!!...Thanks again.

Although they may do size wise, stylistically they are quite different and I don't think they would be a good match. The painting is quite different.

Yes Brad the painting of both products is different, but when put together in mass, the difference is not distracting and in actuality somewhat blends altogether. This is especaillay the case if the Fl figures are palced towards the front with the WB figures behind them in support.

Mike,

I agree that en masse one company's figures could generally blend in with another, although that is something I don't like to do.

Regards,

Brad

These pics that Mike posted are a good example of how the two lines can work together. I think they look fine side by side.

Oh shoot!!!!....I hope I have not started a skirmish here between you guys!!..If it comes to drawing sabres here then sorry but I choose for the Confederacy!!...Each to his own views, I value both your comments, but after having seen the photos of Mikes Diorama then my decision
is made!!!.
Even with WB figures there are differences in painting and shading styles, the last Confederate figures (charging/running) Infantry i purchased are shaded darker, especially faces and hands..But thats OK, people have different complexions, Uniforms for the ACW Confederacy SHOULD be
a hotchpotch of all different shades,....So what i am saying is...It works for me! and i will be adding some Rebel FL figures to my WB/ONTC
collection.....Thanks again Guys for your valued views.

Steve,

Not at all. I'm just not a big fan of Britains ACW, although I do enjoy looking at Mike's dioramas and if you want to create dioramas, they're really the only choice out there :smile2:

Brad

Glad to be of help Steve. I have been a long time fan of Ken Osen's sculpting and I like to create large infantry assualts so collecting WB ACW is a great fit for me. Until FL offered their ACW line, I wouldn't even have considered collecting another ACW manufacturer other than WB/First Gear. Its hard to beat the painting style of FL and for that reason I bought 7 FL ACW figures at the Chicago OTSN show. There are 4 more Confederates I would like to get sometime in the future.

I also collect FL AWI figures and am very pleased with this range to date.

:) Mike
