New Civil War limbers for Union and Confederates will be out in the spring with two figures.
A must have for ACW collectors and artillery displays.
Maybe a team of standing horses in the future?

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have go to take a look. Hopefully they will materialize at some point in the near future. Will need enough to fill out the batteries and do some long delayed dioramas. Chris

Just looked at the FB page and the limbers look awesome. Hopefully teams are available at some point but this will be a great start and I am really looking forward to the new catalog. I don't know the plans for other battery pieces such as a forge, spare parts, and a caisson but this is just a great start. Looks like Christmas came early for me this year. Chris

Chris,
You were the first person I thought of when I saw these posted last night on their page. I know you've been wanting limbers for FOREVER it seems. I'm glad you are finally getting what you wished for. Happy collecting! :)

It does seem like a long time. I remember last talking to Ken "live" about them at the 150th Appomattox event. Definitely worth the wait. Hope we will seem them this year. it does take WB some time from catalog to actual delivery. Appreciate all the positive thoughts and Merry Christmas to all. Chris

Great to hear they're getting made and sure to please you and a lot of ACW collectors.
Hopefully they're be a great seller for Ken and the team at WB !

Hi Chris,
Could you please share the site link so that I can also see these new releases?
Thanks

Here's pictures of the new limbers with both Union and Confederate gun crews. They look very well done.

Very disappointed teams and riders not yet released. Been a long time since Ken mentioned those. Chris

I would agree with Chris that in addition to limbers, teams and riders are most needed to effectively depict ACW horse artillery. Horse artillery in the ACW personified lighter, mobile and quick firing units augmenting in many cases cavalry deployments and actions. Unlike field artillery the horse artillery evolved greatly in the ACW much like cavalry techniques and tactics. No manufacturer captures the ACW as well as WB hence why the anticipation of their next round of rollouts is gathering so much feedback. The incredibly accurate scenic backdrops and terrains are the ultimate way to present the figurines. Simply outstanding. Good job on the limbers but don't forget to create the complete crews and for good measure the cavalry horse holders plus a group of mounted and dismounted Confederate cavalry.

At least this will allow you guys to build up a set of horse artillery, for the Zulu wars it was a one stop shop at a cost of $700 US !!!!

In Ken's post on Facebook he did mention that horses and additional crew (I assume he means mounted riders) will be avaible later this year.

Ah and here and there is the rub or nub if you like for many collectors !
I was lucky and got a new Zulu one "Desperate Escape" for £199,( at time, about $350) As you will imagine I jumped on it and it's a beaut, just not enough room to display alas, but stored for the time I do !
I'd request Ken do a Napoleonic RHA, but for the rub !
Maybe someday I'll get the Nile boat for the same sort of bargain price.
