I understand this is out in the USA. Anyone seen it, or bought it yet?

I see one listed on eBay, but that is all.

I am on my way to Historicon in Fredricksburg, VA so maybe I will see more when I arrive.

My just arrived yesterday. I can post some photos either tonight or tomorrow if you wish. It is a really nice set. Great bang for the buck.

I've had them in stock for over a week now. Several customers have told me it's a great set, but I haven't opened one yet.

Pictures would be nice! I understand the model will arrive over here in the UK next month.

Here are some quick photos of the schwimmwagen:

I did not see one at Historicon today. Will be uploading other pictures though.

TallyHo! Thank you very much for the photos. You obviously like the model - it looks very good. Think I'll be getting one myself - hopefully in the next month or so!

I purchased the Schwimmwagen set yesterday while attending the 2016 W. Britains symposium at the Madison, Wisconsin Veterans Museum. I do not collect WWII but this set was so nicely done I couldn't help myself. The sculpting and paint finish was extremely well done. The Schwimmwagen has rotating wheels, its rear propeller can be raised or lowered, and the camo pattern on the crew's tunics are incredible. I also purchased the US MP with sign #25033 because the MP figure was so well done. At this symposium there was also a sneak peek at upcoming WWII releases in the way of pre-production paint masters on display. Most of these were the new Volk Grenadier figures (winter 1944-45) in winter gear, camo parkas, etc. These are wonderfully done also and I will probably be adding these to my collection. The German 88 will be released by year's end and believe me it will be worth the wait for all those interested.

As a side note . . . . As you may know, the German 88 was introduced at the 2015 Chcago show. However, when First Gear decided to sell the W. Britains brand to Ken Osen and partners, First Gear stop progress on all production until after the sale and transfer was complete. This is why so many W. Britain sets have been delayed. In my past experience I have never been disappointed in any WB product I have had to wait on and the 88 along with the new Volk Grenadiers will be no exception.

WB WWII here I come . . . .

Also, for those waiting on new releases for ACW, AZW, War on the Nile, WWI, Vikings, and Clash of Empires . . . . . let's just say you all will be very happy and pleased . . . .

Mestell - Thanks for your views on the Schwimwagen. I look forward to adding one to my collection. So far I'm very impressed with the quality of the figures in the range (particularly the MP and signboard) and obviously the standard is being maintained for the first vehicle. Thanks for the information re the reason for the delays in new models owing to the change of ownership. I don't mind delays to the availability of the 88mm - gives me more time to save the funds!

When First Gear halted the production of all WB products because of the pending sale and transfer of ownership to Ken Osen and partners, this action, in effect, delayed the release of every item impacted by about 6 months, including the German 88. You will really like the Schwimmwagen . . . . .

Mark me as skeptical on the side note. I have been a transactional lawyer my whole life. When we were a buyer, we made sure that any supply arrangements the seller had with third parties were transferred to the buyer so there was no supply interruption. If the product was being made in the seller's factory and he wanted the product out of there, we put in a transitional supply agreement in place, again to avoid supply interruption. Conversely, where we were the seller, the buyer would make similar requests.

If WB failed to make these sorts of arrangements, that is poor planning.

Mike, on the ACW side, did you see new figures or was it just an update? Chris

I saw no new completed figures Chris . . . . . Ken's after dinner update included a slide presentation. In that presentation were photos of partially completed and resin ACW figures including horses for currently available dismounted officers, new personalities such as a mounted John Gibbon, a new Abe Lincoln, A mounted officers aide, a dismounted Confederate aide holding the reins of his horse, a mounted union cav trooper, ACW civilians, a Reb artillery set, and more. No future release dates given. However, Ken said we both would be very happy before year is over and hinted at limbers, with and without horse teams, with and without horse casualties.

That's a great list of future ACW releases. Topping the list for me will be the John Gibbon figure, and being on horseback all the better.:)

I forgot to ask you this in my last post. You mention the propeller unit at the rear is moveable up and down. Is the windscreen fixed in the upright position or can it also be raised or lowered?

The windscreen is in a fixed position . . . also, the set comes with an extra sterring wheel which allows you to remove the driver replacing him with the spare steering wheel in case you wanted to display the schimmwagen without a crew
