hi all , what would you concider the better of the two in the zulu war series
conte colletables or britains.the reason i ask is i want to start a new diaroma but have only seen britains close up and conte look more realistic but with out compaing the 2 together its hard to tell. with britains there is also lack of dead and dieing figures. any help please

Only the LT can answer that has he has both.

Personally for me it would have to be Britains as the choice is larger. I am sure dead/dying figures won't be too far away as we move into Isandlwana.

rayb I've post quite a few photos of both together and on their own. Check them out if you haven't already by visiting both the Conte and WB Threads as well as in the Diodrama Zulu War Thread of the forum which will provide some guidenance in helping you make to make your choice. My favorie goes without saying...........The Lt.

I have my reasons for preferring the Britains Zulu War range. I don't have any of Conte's Zulu War range, but they appear to be sculpted and painted well. I have and like Conte's earlier Civil War figures as they mix well with Britains Civil War figures.

I think they both look good, but Conte seems to bring out more interesting and unique poses compared to Britains.

There is no reason why you can't buy both, they look good together.

thanks guys for your input, i will go with ozdigger and speaking to a fellow collector the conte figures are what im looking for but i will mix there pair up on the diorama im making to give more scope

deitz why would the mods need to keep an eye on this thread

Ray...I think Brian is just kidding...

sometimes when "asking for comparative opinions" on different manufacturers from collectors...

discussions can turn heated quickly due to personal preferences...

and the moderators...that oversee the posts for vulgarity or insulting comments...

can and will shut down a thread when it gets too hot or ugly...

I don't think that is going to happen here...most of the collectors of Zulu on this forum...have a mutual respect for both Conte and Wm. Brit....

both being great products...

Because often the 'my manufacturer is better than your manufacturer nonsens'e causes lots of grief on the forum particularly between KC & FL.

As to you question on Conte v Britains. Having seen both in person I thought they would not mix well, difference in colour (Conte appear less colourful), size (Conte appeared more fuller figures) but then I saw the Lt.'s pictures and they looked so good together.

I think the Conte action figures are very well done and their Caine and Baxter images are so much like the film, they are wonderful. However, I like the breadth that Britains have, sculpting, colour and it is a major line for them and will continue to be so. Having also met Ken - I really like the way he and Britain's research and deliver their product.

Either way with AZW you can not lose :)

Let's not forget that in 2008 WB featured only 20 sets of figures in their catalog when introducing the series and continued on from there. Conte's introduced 21 to kick off his new series and beleive me gentleman you've seen nothing yet as to what he's got in store for us. Both series work very well together an when put together have created some excellent photo dioramas for me as they will when setting them up together on a permentant diorama. By the way the research done by Conte on his figure's leaves nothing to be desired.........The Lt.

No kidding Lt? You've posted pictures on the forum; gee, never noticed.......................:p

I'm going WAY out on a limb here and taking a stab at this; Conte is your favorite, right........................:D
