Well, all I can say is - They look extremely, hmmm....."interesting". :):);)
Just a vague and obscure reference to that great Brit 1980's satire TV show "Spitting Image". If Wraith's looking in, I reckon he'll have something to say...:p:p

Oh, very nice Lt. It will take a week or so for them to get with me, but I can't wait to see them in person.

For what I see now, they look very good.

Ah, they go great together. Nice action poses and all.
I agree with Jeff that the stripped zulu's would fit in perfectly. The fellow with the mohawk would add something special to your collection as it is probably the first zulu ever released with really fashionable hair. I ordered it and i'll take pics once they arrive.

p.s. As for the work on the backdrop of isandlwana; I'm getting there so you'd know. Lots to do lately.

I agree with you about the stylish haired Zulu set Joachim. Those 2 are my favorite of the new Zulus so far, and I am hoping for more new ones like them in future releases. We'll keep our fingers crossed for the May catalog. :)

Just got my Britains Rorke's Defenders too! I feel almost guilty buying matte items whem I just love the older and more traditional Trophy and LL. They are fantastic in detail. My only complaint is that they are made in the People's Democratic Republic of China, a failed Communist experiment that we continue to bolster by exporting from them. Just my not so humble opinion in the geopolitics of toy soldiers. Mike

Like you I very fond of both my Trophy and Little Legion but it's great seeing that 1st Gear and WBritain has decided to offer us both Matte and Gloss and is doing one great job of it. I'm looking forward to seeing their next sets of figures knowing once again they'll be a group of winners.......The Lt.

Like you I have a love hate relationship with this stuff. You are right on all accounts. I guess that is why I like making some of mine here in the Demokratiche Republic of Kalifornia. Hey our Governor was born Austrian:eek:

Mr

Like you guys, I can't wait for the Hospital and Storehouse!. I'll have to go outside later today to water and fertilize my money trees! Mike

Mike,
Don't you mean "importing" from them..??
Not getting into politics and granted that I'm extremely biased; these (generally) wonderful people are deeply conservative and have an inbuilt mechanism that resists change. But it's gratifying for me personally to see them, certainly over the past 15 years or so, gradually emerging into the big wide world after the years of insularity since 1947, and especially after the trauma of the cultural revolution.

Major General, Sir...
I mean what I said. Manufacturers go over there to produce cheaply then export their goods, while all the marketing and sales goes on over here or the UK. I know I did not offend you! Mike

No offence whatsoever Mike, I was simply saying that I'm glad China is coming out of it's self-imposed isolation, that's all. No politics intended.

I don't really want to get into the politics of it...I don't think this is the place for it, but here is the real deal with what we are making. We have three sculptors...Myself working in Michigan, one in Great Britain and another in Switzerland. We have our master painting done in Kentucky, Michigan and Iowa. The research and design, catalogs ads and photography are almost entirly done here, with some printing done in the UK. The preproduction molding is done here in the US. The production casting, production painting and packaging is done in China, and the final product is warehoused and shipped from Iowa. I suppose this reflects a world market product to a degree. This is not meant to say that any one way or the other is better...just the way things are at W. Britain these days. If I left anyone or any location out I apologize in advance!

Ken,
Thank you for your insight. The pieces themselves stand as art, no matter where they were manufactured. I lament only from a current manufacturer stanpoint in my own business. I do have a feeling ,though that global may soon go local, becuase of the cost of energy. I'm one who believes every country should have a strong manufacturing sector. Again, The quality of the figures means that I already have bought most of them, putting my observations to rest... Keep up the great work! Mike
