British Artillery 1750’s (1 Viewer)

Here we go with the main colour, dark blue and boots and gaiters in black.....also the cannon was painted with dark grey with a touch of dark blue added.

Jeff

Run out of green then?:p

Looking forward to the progress as always.

Simon

Man, am I glad you ran out of green ;)

Very good, Jeff, these castings are simply great.
Looking forward to how they develop through the next steps.
You are one fine painter.
I can tell from my French Artillery Set.

Thanks for doing this.

Konrad,

I can mix green from blue and yellow if necessary..:D

I will be adding a few more colours today.

Jeff

Muskets and ammo pouches have been painted in brown, plus the ramrod, buckets and officers cane.

The cannon barrell was painted in a mixture of gold and black, and I have started painting some of the iron work black. When this has dried I can then paint the other half.

Love that cannon barrel, looks great.
Thanks for showing this next step in this project.
They come along very well, even without any green :D
Simon might be dissapointed though :)

I seem to have run out of blue though......

Jeff, I'll second the look of that barrel, looks a very nice finish.

The 6Pdr is now complete having finished the black ironwork and touched up the carriage. Tomorrow I shall be carrying on with the crew.

Konrad,

Thats ok, glad you like it........you may have noticed that I have a preference for painting the field piece before the crew.........gets the easy part done first ;).

Jeff

excellent paint job can't wait to see the crew finnish

Thank you, these will be a bit more involved than the French set, but what with the wet weather forecast for this Bank Holiday weekend in our neck of the woods, I should be able to have a good crack at these.

Jeff

Konrad,

I have managed to get a bit more painting done over the weekend.

I have added the cross belts (which was a mixture of buff and tan), powder horns and the turn backs and facings which required two coats of red. The blue uniform was given another coat of paint as well. It seems that gloss blue and red always require two coats :(

Splendid, splendid !!!
As you can imagine I was waiting with great anticipation for the next round of colors and they look wonderful.
I believe there are many rainy days in the U.K., aren't there ;)?
For some reason I like that :D.

Thanks guys, the next addition (rainy day permitting :D) will be the fleshy bits!
