just finished this diorama and had to put my new additions to my British artillery crew from JJD on it...

they are the 3 figures on the right...firing the mortar in white pants...

and I honestly believe they are some of John's best figures ever...

the sculpting...the painting...the poses...the faces...

they are SPECTACULAR!!!

Agree Mike, these figures are striking. Your diorama backdrop is huge, almost overshadows your figures^&grin, but does them justice, where do you find the time.:salute::, Robin.

......oooohhh yes! great Mike! the colours of the rocks are wonderful, you got them many washing steps?

About the figures I know I repeat myself but I'd like a new British Artillery Crew for the FIW nicely sculpted and painted like these!!...o no??

Carlo

This looks great Mike!! I can't decide which I like better, John's figures or your dio board.

Mark

Mike, wonderful as always, but if I could make a small suggestion. In the background, drop a BCH-07 drummer, add a flag bearer or two, how about the ammunition wagon and driver, and when available, the new British Engineer (New Club Set). As I am not trying to be pushy, I will refrain from suggesting that you add BCH-14 set to the drummer and the wounded flagbearer ......

As for your wall --- I have this fort in the basement where your wall expertise is sorely needed on the ditch faces, so eventually I will be calling .... that rock wall is simply stunning!!!!

Beautiful Scene!!!

Robin...it's easy to find time because I enjoy building the dioramas...a true "labor of love"...

Carlo...I too welcome more British artillery figures...some of these single gun crews were manned by 8-12 artillery members sometimes...for those 3 guns...it would really require quite a few more figures...so I also would love another couple of 3 piece sets...

I'm totally enamored with the faces John is putting on these guys...top quality detail and realism...he is really excelling at this recently...

thanks Mark...I like JJ's figures better...

I have seen your fort...it is perfect in every way...also a "labor of love"...

Dropped in tonight to see what was going on in the JJD threads . . . . . dsicovered this series of nicely done photos. Congrats on the new additions to your collection. They look great in front of that spectacular backdrop you made.
:smile2: Mike

What's not to love about Napoleonics. John does artillery well - and the specialist gunnery figures are great.

Mike

With the new crew ... you'll be needing more guns {sm4}

Hope to see your new gun battery soon.

OD...I just ordered the 2 new figures that John made...but I doubt I will buy another gun...I think I read somewhere that most artillery crews for these guns consisted of 8-12 men per gun...I may be wrong about that...maybe somebody can comment on that...

Mike

Referring back to the pics from your post # 1.

Two of the earlier JJD crews are poised, ready to fire their respective guns. The third crew is separately positioning/aiming another piece. The latest gunners are in the midst of loading a gun, can this be the gun being positioned/aimed ? ... otherwise it's unlikely that the new guys can be "partnered" with the earlier crews.

Sure would like your thoughts on this.
