British 75mm GMC

Adding to its growing Road to Rome line focusing on the WWII Italian Campaign, Figarti Miniatures proudly adds its “British 75mm GMC” (Item #RMA-003) with three crew figurines in tropical uniforms. Obsolete in its originally developed role as an American tank destroyer, the M3 75mm Gun Motor Carriage was utilized by the British to provide artillery support. Bearing the square symbol for B squadron and the black eagle of the 1st King’s Dragoon Guards, the Figarti British 75mm GMC has features unique to British armoured vehicles, including the RAC flash of red-white-red vertical stripes on the sides and an aerial recognition sign on the engine hood. Part of the famed Desert Rats of the 7th Armoured Division, the 1st King’s Dragoon Guards were organized as an armoured reconnaissance unit in WWII, taking part in a number of major actions in Italy from Naples to the Gothic Line. Only 100 sets of this livery will be produced. Retail $249, Available from you dealer end of November/beginning December.

Desert Sherman Mk II

The first Sherman tanks to see combat in WWII were the petrol engined M4A1, known to the British as the General Sherman Mk II. Responding to the wishes of collectors, Figarti Miniatures proudly adds to its North Africa line by introducing the "Desert Sherman Mk II" (Item # 8TH-006) with a single tank commander figurine. Painted in the markings of Squadron C, 9th Queen’s Royal Lancers, 2nd Armoured Brigade, 1st Armoured Division, the Shermans of this regiment were known for their marksmanship with one gunner personally congratulated by General Montgomery for destroying nine enemy tanks on a single day. Displaying an attention to detail, the Figarti Desert Sherman Mk II has the distinctive early M3 type bogies, M34 gun mount, spoked road wheels, and bolted three piece transmission cover. In addition, Figarti has added the features unique to British Shermans serving in North Africa, including sand shield, blanket box, recognition pennants, and the brackets and rails along the hull to accommodate a sunshield. Their existence a secret at the start of the Second Battle of Alamein, the British Sherman tanks used a large tent like sunshield painted to look like a 3 ton lorry to disguise them from enemy aerial and mountaintop observation. Only 100 sets of this livery will be produced. Retail $189, Available from your dealer end of November/beginning December.

RICK....2 more great models to choose from oh dear...Italian campaign one of my favorites and desert sherman MONTY needs a few. Will be busy cuddling to mommy for a few extra dollars.

I just received the Desert Sherman today and it's great of course.

One question: there is a separate piece that I have no idea where it goes. Any ideas. See photo (not great quality) attached.

One small criticism: when you place the machine gun in its hole, it's a tight fit and the paint comes off but since I'm not taking it out again, it's minor.

Usual complaint: the figure. I may not use it or use a K & C one.

It's the large size British funnel for fueling the tank from jerry cans. It goes on the left rear corner of the tank with the funnel part through a small metal loop next to the head of the shovel.

Received this for my birthday and this is an excellent model, up to great Figarti standards. Kudos to Rick. I still think these are available.
