Love those Bunker Hill Carrier Decks. Customs was wondering what exotic woods these were made from since the shipment packaging made them look exotic. I told them they were not made of any Brazilian Rosewoods, nothing exotic and expensive and that they should just let me pass through.

The photo etch parts are excellent!!

Nice Chris,

I haven’t done the math on these, but I believe that the BH deck sections are about 25 scale feet across (as opposed to the IWA versions at 37.5 feet). This might actually matter because it suggests that using the BH sets “four across” wouldn’t be out of bounds. Expensive, yes.:redface2: Unrealistic, no!:D

Moe,

There is actually a 3rd piece but it was out of stock. Enough space to put two Corsairs, one with wings folded and the other extended. That's the plan.

There was also a private joke shared with Belgiumfries, Vicknor and John about it being declared as "cheap" wood so that I can cross customs without having to explain to the customs officer what model aircrafts are about.

If my math is correct:

IWA-100 + IWA-200 placed together are 29.875 inches wide. 29.8875 x 30 = 896.25 scale inches. 896.25/12 inches = 74.688 scale feet across.

BH-100 + BH-200 + BH-300 placed together are 29.25 inches wide. 29.25 x 30 = 877.5 scale inches. 877.5/12 inches = 73.125 scale feet across.

Nice pics Chris. These, and the IWA, deck sections are flying off the dealers shelves. I pre-ordered the BH set after seeing the IWA sell out on the initial release. Hoping the success of these encourages John to release something for the IJN next yr. Looking fwd to the deck crew releases. Chris

Deck sections with a big, red meatball. That would look awesome. -- Al

Thanks for your 'disclaimer', Chris...Why not just state the obvious ...that the Corsair is K&C's USMC land-based 'Pappy' Boyington VMF 214 one! And by all means also state that you are waiting for a more 'historically accurate' US Navy one to replace it...Come to think of it there is already a 'Bunker Hill' Navy Corsair available...The K&C one, maybe you've not seen that one..?

Or is John also doing a 'Bunker Hill' US Navy one..?
Stay in touch, Andy.

Agree the plates are very good. Going to need a wings folded version. Robin.

Chill out Andy. Actually, it is free advertising on the JJD section of the forum, but you have to help yourself to it, which you have done it wonderfully. Yes, I have seen the K&C Navy Corsair, but I already bought the K&C USMC Corsair and was working on completing the rest of the K&C items to accompany it. But you had diverted my attention with the USMC Marines and SPR.

As for John doing a US Navy one, I believe he is, from the recent Chicago updates. Cheers, Chris
