Hi All,

Now starting to plough through my considerable grey army.

These figures are the recent batch which I am speed-painting to get back in the groove.

Here is the second batch.

A primitive figure which requires a simple assembly.

I assembled the primitive and it is ready for painting.

For the Alexander Dumas figure, I added melted sprue to his hair and worked on it with a pyrogravure.

Other figures have been sprayed with matt white ready for painting.

Victor,

this is an image of a batch for MOKAREX figures that I painted for an Aussie collector about 15 years ago......

I'd forgotten about them until I saw your recently and found the images in a archive area!!!
They aren't on my website either !!

Hope you like them, and if you need any colour plates of others, I have also found other images,

John

Hi John,

Keep posting them here. Great reference pics and terrific figures! These are great sculpts in general and should be painted up. I am painting mine in batches.

Hi All,

The Mokarex Café Storme figures had some really great sculpts. I am changing my display collection to include the unpainted figures among the painted figures just because they look so good.

More work on selected figures.

After spraying with an undercoat, I usually underpaint with a basic enamel colour and then start on the faces.

These three are similar looking figures

Finished the face on Louis David, which I like. However, I read that he has a very dark side to his personality.

Finished Van Eyck and Dumas, the latter with a darker complexion.

Hi John,

All the figures and horses are definitely smaller in size than the standing figures. Their scale (?) definitely varies as can be seen from the pics.

All the standing figures appear to range from 1/32 - 1/30. The mounted figures range from 1/48 - 1/32 and the horses are typically not larger than 1/35. That is by simple visual observation based on my incomplete collection.

Awesome stuff! I really like what you did to fix the hair on Dumas too.

What scale would you say the Van Eyck figure is?

Hi WK,

Thanks for your comments. The Van Eyck figure is between 1/32 - 1/30.

All the pics of Dumas show him to have this untamed hairstyle. I added some melted sprue to the hiar and when dry, I used a pyrogravure to work the hair. I think that the rework gives him a specific personality.

I have reattached the head of this mounted figure de Requesson to look to the right as the original was just staring straight ahead.

Having just visited Venice, I was reading up about its history and rediscovered these two figures, one a Starlux in hard plastic. The armour looks Northern Italian and the crossbowman could be made to represent a Genoese or Milanese soldier.

Starting to finalise this piece. The details on the chains (silver, then when dry, thin wash with black) are very clearly sculpted.
