Cafe Storme Mokarex figures (2 Viewers)

I used a pyrogravure to create some undercuts to the hat. The hat was also reshaped with putty. The collar and neck was also sculpted.

Finally mounted and completed all the bases for my first batch of figures. Messy and tedious but this is the only way to work effectively in batches.

Nap and the first three figures are being painted and finalized.

Here are all the recent figures all based up, the bases given another coat of gloss varnish. Figures in various stages of painting, various periods and makes.

Hi All,

It's been a while since I last posted some of my work here. In between doing various projects, I've managed to sneak in some work on the odd single figures here and there.

These are first few batches of completed single figures, nicely based on glossy bases and some with titles. Enjoy! Victor

Here's the next few pieces being done up.


Marat being painted, Baron Haussmann with a repaired sword scabbard, and a sculptor.


This figure shows a very spindly side view, now being bulked up with putty.

These Mokarex Café Storme figures are beautifully sculpted and charming. Because they are affordable, I use them to continually hone my modelling skills.

Hello John,

Always good to hear from you! Yes I've bulked him up a bit. I also found out that he represents Leopold II of Belgium, not Franz Josef. I think I am working on too many projects and am getting my figures all mixed up..

Anyway, Besides recreating the back, I have also reshaped his head and enlarged his beard.

Here, I have recreated the back of Lavoisier.

I was pleased to read in the latest issue 84 of TSC that Geoff Barnes used many Café Storme Mokarex figures in his diorama article.

I've just had some brass labels made and stuck to my finished figures.

So here Alexandre Dumas Pere.

Another figure requiring modification.

This figure represents Andre Chenier, French poet who was a victim of the French revolution. For some reason, his right hand bothered me. Finally, I decided to snip it off an replace it with something more organic.

The back of the Andre Chenier figure was also built up.

The sculpting on the back of the Lavoisier figure was completed and it is now being painted.

I decided to really build up the back of Leopold II. I broke off the two arms to facilitate the reshaping of the back and legs.
