Hey Carlos,

Take it easy whilst recouperating. I hope your recovery isn't too uncomfortable and I'm glad to hear that surgery isn't required on your back. And if you've got a morphine self administration button, get it working overtime - it's free and legal!
My thoughts are with you and your family.

All the best mate,
Simon

Carlos:

I am so very sorry that this happened to you! Hang tough and fight through this as I promise you things will improve in time. Let me know if I can help out at all since I went through something all too similar inclusive of some joint reconstruction & a broken back. My best to Nancy as well during this difficult time!

Lots Of Prayers Heading Your Way,
Marc

Here’s an update on Carlos from Nancy:

The 2nd operation on his ankle was successful. He no longer has rods and screws sticking out from his leg and heel. He developed a fever from a urinary tract infection (hospitals!). So, he’s going to be taking antibiotics for a while. He still needs oxygen to breathe and he is continuing to do breathing exercises every hour or so.

Every day is better than the last and he remains in good spirits.

:)

This is overall, good news. I hope the recovery is fast with no long term damage. All the best Carlos...We all hope to see you well soon!

Hello - This is Nancy Codina
I have the following message from Carlos to pass along:
Thank you for all your warm thoughts and wishes. I am progressing well and I am happy to be alive.
I have the following injuries - broken elbow and broken ankle, both required surgery. I have a compression fracture of the back (L2) which requires me to wear a brace for 6-8 weeks, but it should heal naturally. I also have a bruised lung, which has meant the need for oxygen and I am still having difficulty breathing. It is expected that my recovery will take 6-8 weeks for the bones to heal and from 3-6 months for full recovery.

Carlos also asked me to post a few pictures of his car and of the truck that ran him off the road.

Warm regards,
Nancy
