Guys, terrible story and on some level you feel bad for the kid (probably moreso for the parents that have to deal with the idiot). That said, as a homeowner or property owner, if you are in a situation where a thief, burglar or generally bad hombre is messing with you or your property on your property and you feel threatened, then there is no debate. I am never going to give up the chance of my life ending for some piece of garbage who should not be there in the first place. Therein lies the issue, if the thief was never present, then nothing bad would have ever happened. To me that is common sense, it is not about feelings. I always ask this question, are you willing to give up your life for a criminal (that is what a thief is, a common criminal regardless of motive or background). The answer is a resounding no.
