At the London Show last weekend I picked up two of the new FL Mounted Crusaders and I think they are even better than the foot soldiers; superb detailing on the pieces. They really do look great.

Templar Sargeant is up first...

Very nice additions to your collection . . . .and thanks for all the closeup shots with different perspectives of these mounted Crusaders . . .
:) Mike

Gaz,

The Knight is unreal. The cover (not sure of the technical term) looks like it's just been placed on the horse. Really outstanding sculpting and painting.

I don't think you'd want to run into those fellows in a dark alley ^&grin

Gazza...Superb Acquisition....Mine are on the way....Amazing Products from First Legion{bravo}}

Very Very nice, I really like those mounted Crusaders. Thanks for posting them pics:salute:: FL has really
Grabbed me with their Crusaders.

Thanks VERY much for sharing your pics on these. The mounted Knights look awesome. Since my dio plan has the Crusaders 'manning the walls', I'm more focused on foot-soldiers/siege items at this time-but always love to see FL's latest and greatest creations.

WOW! They look really nice. The quilting on the horses, and the horses themselves, look great. Thanks for sharing the pics, and congrats on these fine acquisitions.

Agree re the quilting, that really stood out. Nice pick ups Gazza. One of those may be making a dink in the card soon.

Hi Gazza
I read that the Romans are bigger than the WW2 figures
Are the Crusaders (mounted) same size as Romans or WW2 figures
Thank u

All Romans and Crusaders are roughly the same size because a single sculptor does those two ranges for us. As a company, with the exception of the Napoleonic range which is far too large for a single sculptor to handle, we usually have a single sculptor assigned to do all of the work on a single range. This helps to keep everything consistent within a range. So the Crusaders and Romans are all done by the same sculptor hence why they are similar in size and style.

For those who are wondering, the Renaissance figures are sized like the Crusaders (possibly even a tiny bit larger). They are definitely some of our finest sculpts I think and those who prefer a slightly heftier figure will love them. They are also some of our best painted figures. Dare I say "cutting edge" in terms of overall sculpting and painting quality at their price point! {sm4}

Best,

Matt

I do not own the Romans or WW2 figures so can not directly compare.

I believe that the Crusaders - to my eye when looking at the Shows - are larger than the WW2 figures and similar to the Romans. But I have never measured them.

I have posted some pics of the Crusaders foot and mounted together and they look good.

FL Crusaders are bigger than their WW2 figures. They are also bigger than K&C Crusaders.
