A new set indeed. Something about the helmets that I like on these. Robin.

Superb scene and setting!

I agree that they are very nice figures, but are their uniforms a bit more Luftwaffe Blue as opposed to Feld Grau? What do you think?

I do like and enjoy your WW 2 scenes.

Thanks very much. As to your question.... there is a blue tint to the uniforms, kind of between blue/grey. It might look a little more vibrant/blue in my photo than in person.

Hi there, on the ‘blue’ shade of uniform instead of ‘Feldgrau’…

During the last two years of WW2, German industry was under all kinds of difficulties and shortages as well as being instructed to make ‘economies’ in the manufacturing process of everything from ‘uniforms to utensils’…virtually every item worn, carried or utilised by the Wehrmacht soldier, sailor and airman went through this process…it was especially noticeable in their uniforms.

Long gone were the classic, high-quality, all-wool Feldgrau and ‘grun’ of the prewar, early and mid-war periods now replaced with much lower quality uniforms made from mostly cheaper, synthetic materials and using inferior dyes. One result, among many, was the uniform K&C selected for these latest Panzer Grenadiers. Our guys are definitely ‘Late-War’.

I hope this info helps…and provides a little background.
Overall, I still think they are great little figures and ‘Duke’ employs them very successfully!
All the best,
Andy.

Nice scene Duke......BUT why do the helmets have uniformed dents in them and weapons look huge?

I liked using the earlier figures in this style, as exterior guards in the surroundings of my Berghof dioramas. Felt their look qualified them to take on this roll as a special squad. Just how I perceived them and my reason for acquiring. Robin.

Thanks mate. Not sure what you mean about the dents unless you are talking about the netting that is covering them maybe?

Hi Duke,
Simple little scene…beautifully executed!
Thankyou,
Andy.

Thanks Andy and thanks for the info on the uniforms. I like the way they look.

I agree Steve, they are fantastic figures . but also " a picture is better than a 1000 words"
Very nice set up in combination with the house and tiger tank.
Colour is correct not so long ago ,I saw a real late war German uniform. It was a combination of a dark grey jacket and blue-ish trousers .
Guy:smile2:
