Kudos to Nick and BSP for a fine diorama displayed at the Chicago show. Here are some of the pictures.

Some great work there. That Tommie standing in the doorway is that new or just from an existing set.

Carlos, did these dio get sold as K & C does or does Rick take them back to Shanghai?

The Train diorama sold under the condition it be shipped to the buyer after the West Coaster. I'm not sure if the BSP diorama was sold but I do know it will also be used at the West Coaster Show.

Thanks for posting the pics......Although we do work for Figarti....Everything involving Chicago is kept very quiet by Rick prior to the show......Besides the Stun and Awe, which we were not involved with....Was there any other new regular releases besides the Jagdpanzer and the Panzer IV

This is one of the best displays I have ever seen...the building is tremendous...

Gentlemen

Now that all of the Chicago dust has settled...I would like to summarize a few things:

1) We have been accused of bragging......We get attacked a lot because what we do is somewhat of a hybrid in this hobby, so we find we have to explain ourselves quite often.

2) What do we actually think of ourselves......We do think of ourselves as a Hybird....There are many talented Battle Scene builders out there, but we think we have a unique brand of realism....No better....no worse than anyone else....just something that more resembles the 1/35th scale model industry. Some say these entities can not be combined, we say they can. (Debrito and First Legion also appear to share this mentality).

And let me be clear ALL of the Manufacturers are doing excellent work, along with those who do scenes for them etc. What BSP and Figarti are about just amounts to a slight difference. We sometimes describe it as a dirty effect. REMEMBER!!! WE SAID ALL MANUFACTURERS AND THOSE WHO WORK FOR THEM DO EXCELLENT WORK....The realism thing is not much of an issue any more.

3) Who do we represent....Mostly Figarti because they have the same mentality as us...There are many excellent products out there, but Figarti has the most hybrid look to it....We are not saying they are the best, but just like us, we have the same 1/35th scale realism outlook.

Frontline Figures....We like their WWI stuff.

Collectors Showcase....We think they have some great ideas and good action to their figures.

4) Positive Attitude....We fear no one, We think we proved in Chicago we can stand with the best, and we feel that we have a unique slant on presentation....No better...no worse....just unique. So those of you who believe as we believe in our hybrid concept, stand with us and enjoy. For those of you who don't just leave us alone and enjoy rhe hobby in your own way.

5) Will we build stuff for you....Yes...From basic and inexpensive to elaborate and costly. ( Contact info is on our Website )

6) The attacks really disturb us and sometimes make us wonder if it is worth it to continue.....No we don't rub elbows with the in crowd, and maybe that is our greatest downfall, but our jobs as Municipal workers make us despise politics, we want peace in our lives, and this hobby gives it to us...Most of the time :)

7) We realize this is Treefrog's Forum but Hobby Bunker is giving us a lot of help with the upcoming Mini-Series and they need to be mentioned. To be clear...Yes we do represent them.

8) We will have a table at the Hackensack NJ show displaying some of our work...and we will have a nice give away.

9) Who does what at BSP.......At this point Nick and I collaborate on every aspect of BSP's operations

Regards

Alex and Nick

I think the only mentality that collectors care about is that the dio's look excellent. These really do IMO.

I think a great dio is a great dio plain and simple. Whether its slanted towards the 1/35th scale set up or not does not really matter its about getting a realistic setting to showcase the manufacturers products or, ultimately, the collectors in their homes.

Alex, you guys do fantastic work! The skills and mindset you bring to your scenes are exceptional. The intricate detail and the modeler's mentality make your creations and presentations unique. Where the average set-up I make to photograph may take an hour to prepare, each one of yours takes days to make the components from scratch and then assemble them into a story-telling dramatic scene. I always am excited to see a new posting of your work. Keep it up!
