Chicago Show '08 (1 Viewer)

It would be really nice if they told you what dealer is in which room, but I don't suppose that is going to happen, even though the rooms are reserved already and they know who is going to be where.

There was always a list of who's where available at past shows (probably made up by either the hotel or the sponsors of the show). On one side it was in alphbetical order by the name of the dealer, on the other it was in order by room number. It is absolutely essential to have some means of navigating the bizarre overlapping cube layout of that blasted hotel. I certainly hope somebody has made a similar list this year!

Dang, how did I manage never to get one? I agree though you sure can get turned around in that maze of hallways and we always have better things to do then concentrate on where we are going, just too many treasures to contemplate.

I would expect that they'll have a map and list or room assignments again. I've never failed to grab one..

From what I've heard, even tho the larger bulletin boards aren't going to be available in the floor lobbies - there will still be a place to find brochures, flyers, and maps...

All - As previously mentioned, I'll again be taking photos and posting reports at the Playset Magazine website. Here's a direct link to where the reports will be posted.

http://www.playsetmagazine.com/otsn_2008.html

I'll try to do a minimum of 3 reports - and hopefully 4.

You can also reach the page from the below address, as well as reports (and tons of photos) from the previous 7 years.

Thx,

Keep in mind that there will be dealers and manufacturers on the Fifth floor this year too.
Ken

On the3rd, 4th and 5th as well as on the lower level I think... Also - even though Playset Magazine is primarily focused on plastics I always include several photos of metal toy soldiers... As the saying goes - It's All Good!

Jim

The dealers are up on the 4th and 5th floor. Due to the hotel not having a number of rooms on the 4th floor ready in time, several dealers will be relocated to the third floor.

So there will be dealers on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floor this year.

For what it's worth, I will be in rooms 5340 and 5342, which are in fact Andy's old rooms from several years ago; when I first started going to OTSN, my room was across the hall from Andy's and when he couldn't attend in 2001, I had requested two connecting rooms, so they moved me into his two rooms......

George Guerriero

This will be my 11th year attending as Hobby Bunker. I went to a couple when I was a teenager when my father owned Excalibur Hobbies. I will actually be set up on the first floor in the City Rooms (Rolling Meadows) along the main corrider between the back parking lot and the lobby. It worked out that I made the move for more space because my usual spot at 4428-4430 is not completed yet!

All,

OTSN has begun.. not without some bumps and bruises... the hotel remodeling is causing a lot of problems with room availability, etc. Hopefully, this will all be cleared up tomorrow.

Barzso's new releases are:

1. Officially Licensed Fess Parker Daniel Boone Playset
2. Officially Licensed Fess Parker Fort Boonesborough
3. Medieval Fortified Abbey - to add onto his current medieval castle line.

I've posted a very few photos at: http://www.playsetmagazine.com/otsn_2008a.html

Much more to come both in plastic and metal...

Thx,

Jim

Thanks for all the pictures. I hope you keep them coming. I thought there must be more to see than K&C and Figarti, however nice they are.;)

Well it looks as if Figarti are the leaders this year. The pics from them so far are amazing.

Hopefully once the show is done there will be some great pictures of other manufacturers new releases so as not to disappoint the rest of us :D

Sunday the col is coming........:D:D see you all there, I will be wearing a special OSTN spraypainted t-shirt, so look for me.

PS I got a cold and a sore throat so try not to get in the sneeze radios:p:p.

Don't be surprised if you see a large selection of photos from Carlos Major desk11desk12 from those he's visited. He's been a prince in the past providing us with some great photos of the show and feel he'll be doing the same if time' permitted it. Thanks Carlos for the Figarti photos you've provided us with and again some great photos ....The Lt.
