Re: Chciago show 2013

Sorry Howard, but the "Vulture" always gets the "worm" first ... I'll make sure the dealers tell you I got there first when you get to the rooms.;)

Steven mate,
It will be go to catch cobber, but as my good Texan mate Michael Miller will tell you, the "Hawk" is always circling.^&grin
Counting the days until the fun begins.
Cheers Howard

You can't be a vulture if I've gotten there first and I will be picking up at the Show items I've wanted for a long time: a wooden RAF ambulance and fuel bowser. Vulture that! ^&cool

Brad

It was a real surprise today, but I totally unexpectedly got a few vacation days confirmed, got the hotel booked (arriving thursday - leaving sunday), got the friday night dinner event booked, and am now looking forward to a few days of nothing but Toy Soldiers ^&grin ^&grin ^&grin

Hope to meet a lot of fellow Treefrogers, some I already know and hopefully a few new ones as well.

Several days all around the hobby.
Can't get any better, guys :wink2:

Cheers!

Brad mate,
The plane from the UK with the Grey Goose couldn't make it, so they are being shipped straight to the Land of OZ.^&grin^&grin^&grin
Cheers Howard

Howard,

We are on the same wave length on this one :wink2:

That should be fantastic mate. We don't often get this lucky.

Brad

Looking forward to seeing what Figarti ,TG. have new at the show and hoping KC have some new RAF ,luft item

At this time of the day, in exactly three weeks, I'll be getting "dizzy" in the maze of the Hyatt Regency, which are the two floors where the room trading is going on.
It's going to be fun, guys.
Toy Soldiers, meeting people (the more often you go the more you know), Toys Soldiers, a stop at the bar, Toy Soldiers, a little chat at the smoking section outside, Toy Soldiers, grabbing some food, Toy Soldiers, meeting more people, Toy Soldiers, back to the bar, thinking about Toy Soldiers but then staying at the bar

And next morning, guess what will start the day? Yes, right, it will be a breakfast
But after that it's going to be Toy Soldiers all over again.

Jeez, I love that stuff.

Come on, guys, book yourself a room and join in.

See you in Chicago (I hope)

the maze really does put one in a daze. Just make sure you drink alot of water. I am hoping there is some trophy for sale, but i always do enjoy going to certain rooms like tedtoys or paul herman's room because he always has a good variety of things. Of course there is always big george's room, kc, hobby bunkers, britains, craig mclains, frontlines and so many others. Its a grand time. And of course we get to meet all the great collectors and dealers. . Just alot of fun. Hope to see you all there.

OTSN is just the greatest time of the year for me. But there is one part of the event that gets me in a "down mood" It occurs about 4:30PM on Saturday. The halls of the Hyatt are starting to empty, dealers are closing there doors getting ready to move downstairs and I think to myself, it,s over, all the anticipation and it will be a full year before another OTSN. P.S., I haven,t stayed for the show itself for about the last 15 years, usually I,m out of money, can,t even afford the admission and after 3 days I,ve seen just about everything there is.
Will get there Thursday around 1PM. Have to stop at Portellos first to get some Chicago food! Thanks John (leadman) for turning me on to that place.
Gary

I'm with you, Gary.
Once a few days of room trading are done, there's hardly anything new left for the actual show.
And by that I mean, nothing left of the budget and nothing left new to discover.
So, the sunday is the day when I leave.
Sometimes I had a rough, quick glance at the show halls, but now I'll be hitting the road to go back home after breakfast.
For me the Chicago Show experience is the room trading and the meeting and socializing with many people during the days prior to the show.
Cheers!
Konrad

It was good to meet you at the K&C San Antonio Dinner. Will be a pleasure to catch up again in the Windy City. Chicago is always a fantastic week of TS collecting and meeting and socializing with collectors. The first beer is on me cobber.:smile2:
Cheers Howard

Brad mate,
From moderator to comedian. I'm loving it.^&grin^&grin Maybe you could shout the beers and I'll just talk TS to all and sundry.:smile2:

Cheers Howard

I look forward to meeting some old friends and meeting some new friends.
I will see everyone in the hallways and the bar at night.
Brian

As usual the Hobby Bunker crew will be there and over doing it! I just picked up about 8000 soldiers in the last 10 days from 3 different collections and will find a way to jam as much as i can in the trailer! We will be set up on the first floor again all week like we were last year(the Ivory Room). Same location as we are at on Sunday. Really looking forward to the show again. I am 38 and this will be my 17th show!

There looks to be a pretty good list of goods that Figarti will be showing as well, they will also be displaying with me on the first floor along with Aeroart.

Thanks and see you soon, Matt

Howard is the first round on you?
