Hello all,

Right now due to a cancellation I have an opportunity to run a 2 day show Oct 7/8 with a set up on Friday. We could entertain a Friday evening session or something for dealers only or a gathering of some sort.

It would be at the Kane County Fairgrounds. Not to far from Schaumberg and O'Hare. They are already booked through all of 2023 and so are some other places. If I jump on it now I have an option to run in it the regular weekend in September 2024. If I hesitate both theses dates will be gone in a week.

I have talked to others and the thought of doing room trading is just to much work for no return. It is not something I can take on. Selling tickets at the door and selling toys is something I can do. Smoothing things out with a hotel and everyone that has "an issue" at check in and "a bathtub vs a shower in a room" is something I cannot take on.

I am waiting to hear back from a couple places. The Hyatt has already booked their ballroom. My father once told me "things get bigger or smaller but never stay the same." Don was looking for a new venue for years and so was Roger. They aged out.

I would appreciate opinions from people that will actually attend the show or would like to attend or support the show. Thoughts on the changes. I really do not need negative vibes here.

Matt! Count me in to attend the event! Several other dealers and collectors that have attended the OTSN/CTSS have attended shows at the Kane County fairgrounds.

It looks to be 45 minutes from O’Hare so that’s good. The building looks quite big and should be able to hold a lot of people. You’d want to investigate to see if there are hotels nearby for out of town dealers and attendees but since it’s not far from Schaumberg that shouldn’t be an issue.

It’s probably the best of a bad situation and should work well for attendees from the Chicago metro areas and environs.

The Kane County Fairgrounds would be a great place for a show. Many shows are held on the grounds including a very large toy show.

There is plenty of parking and there are a ton of restaurants just a few minutes from the fairgrounds.

There's a Marriott right there for Tom ;-)
And the rest of us too!

If you build it, we will come. Even with masks. The show must go on.
Pat Sr has been to Kane County Fairgrounds and it would work. There are other available venues here as well. Good hunting.
Thanks for your unswerving support of the Hobby.
Best Wishes,
Pat & Pat

That building should be fine. The dupage county fairgrounds are nice too and 2 miles from the catigny muesem which is the museum of the big red one infgantry division

Count me in. Marriott Courtyard 3.5 miles away, Fairfield less than a mile. Courtyard has Starbucks and a Bar. $135/night.

According to map quest The Kane County Fairground is only 11 miles (16 minutes) from Cantigny. It is well worth the trip. I have been to Cantigny many times both the tank park and museum are well worth the trip.

With lack of availability of a location that fits our needs and time constraints on me. I am running the West Coaster next week.

This is pretty much a done deal. I need to sort out the contract and then I can start planning.

Question? Does that mean we are a go for Kane Cty Fair Grounds in early October, or are We taking a pass on the new Ctss until 2024?

I am in negotiations for Kane County. I have also been in negotiations with the Schaumberg Marriott. If I can get this done at the Marriott it will be on the same September weekend.
