Chinese Spy Balloon over US (1 Viewer)

I think the statement by the one ex-CIA official who’s been interviewed a couple of times is the most poignant. The only important thing the Chinese learned from this balloon is how easily we can be turned against each other over trivial matters. They now know the can mess with us while doing relatively little. Nice work drama queens

The Chinese military must be falling on ground laughing themselves to sleep. How do we know this wasn't a big deal? The bunglers in charge let it drift across the entire US for some still unknown purpose. If it turns out not to be a big deal, it is only because China decided not to put a nuke in it or COVID 23. Not because of anything the US did to protect itself. The next time may be different.

Would have to agree, I can't see what all the fuss is about and the Chinese must be absolutely pissing themselves.......

So true. The Arizona Balloon Buster is spinning, big time. -- Al

I see where the planes' call signs were Frank 01 and Frank 02, in honor of Luke. Nice to see the AF has a sense of history and a sense of humor.

I was surprised they wasted a missile on the balloon. I guess jets don't have machine guns anymore. However, jets must be still armed with small cannons.

They let the thing cross the Pacific Ocean into Alaska but then wait until it transverses the entire US to shoot it down over the Atlantic? Wow. The decision makers at the highest levels are really on top of things.
Reports have said this is not the first time the Chinese balloons had crossed the US, it did it twice before, in early 2017 and early 2019. The thing was 200 feet tall, carrying considerable weight, imagine that breaking up and coming down over a populated area. What do you suggest shooting it down where the broken pieces could come down over tens if not hundreds of square miles! It was at a considerable altitude. You must be a lawyer, as that would lead to thousands of people suing for damage, injury and even deaths. Trying to drum up business.

Knowing the US Military, there will be over 30 people get medals, 4-8 books on it and the Midget will make another Top Gun film about it.

This is non-news, has happened many times before, but certain politicians get it in the press to distract, mainly from one party wantting to screw up the country by not agreeing the increase in the debt ceiling........to pay for things you have already bought.
