This has been very difficult news.
Chuck and I were good friends and it has been like a loss of a family member. His health has been deteriorating over the past several years. We have known each other almost since the beginning of Treefrog Treasures. We had a great time meeting in person several years back after talking by phone for so many years when was able to make one last trip to the Chicago show. He had quite a time getting the airlines to cooperate with his oxygen tank and I'm not sure his doctor was thrilled about the idea but he loved getting the chance to see so many of his forum friends there.
Chuck was so proud of his grandkids (Nick is a computer whiz among his many talents) and he was so pleased with his granddaughter's choice of spouse. He loved his dogs like crazy and I like to think of him reunited with Patch whom he lost to illness a few years ago and who occupied a special corner of his heart.
Chuck always had great stories to tell, took time to let people know he cared about them and was always interested in what was going on in their lives. He was great at connecting with people. He was a true gentleman and an all around wonderful guy.
He lived with many frustrating medical issues which were a direct result of his military service to his country.
He was one of my favorite people and I will miss him.
