Once again with little or no words Joe you've provided us with an outstanding selection of photos beutifully staged of an historical event bringing it to life with your photos. They do say a picture is worth a thousand words an you've more than proven that over the past few days. Hope this fines your visit to the doctors turned out well.

Thanks, Joe. All is well. 10 stiches and a black eye to show for it. And an extra day of sick leave!

The Union troops have breached the fortifications.

Joe, Great work! It appears the Collectors Showcase troops will blend in well with the Conte and Britain's. For some reason I was under the impression they were K/C size, too big for my troops.
Great work! Hope you survived your treatment with no ill effects.

Harold

Sorry to mention this again but it's the depth of the scene that makes your photos so outstanding! {bravo}} I would imagine that there are many hours of **n setting this up - thanks for sharing. :salute::

"Sorry to mention this again but it's the depth of the scene that makes your photos so outstanding".

The depth is mainly because the set-up is so big and deep. The backdrops from Traverse Dioramics help, too.

Totally Awesome Display. I am reading between the lines some, but I am getting the impression that you painted many of the figures yourself --- wonderful work. Sometimes it is difficult to judge sizes and dimensions, about how big is the display?

The main area is 5 and 1/2 feet wide and 12 feet deep. The back end is 8 feet wide.

I did paint some of the plastic guys, but it was Jeff Bailey who painted the Collector's Showcase zouaves. He did an amazing job on them.

Joe,
In a word, this is brilliant.

Beyond brilliant really in every aspect. Those Conte figures look great in a large battle scene, so much character and so many dramatic poses which lend themselves to a display of this type.

A display like this takes a lot of time to plan out and set up as well as photograph, many thanks for sharing this with the forum.

Also like the way you carried the action forward, the last hand to hand aspects of the charge are very well laid out.

This one, UK Rebs Union assault on the Mule shoe and Mike Estells large ACW battle using the Ken Osen terrain boards are my all time three favorites so far................

Thanks. George. I was hoping you would see the thread. It's been **n. I can't do the orderly troop formations like you do so beautifully with the smaller guys, but I did get accross the sense of there being alot of troops in action.

You're right about how well the Conte figures do drama. No one else has caught up to him in that regard yet, but The Collector's Showcase figures keep on getting better and better and ever more dramatic...and their faces photograph so well. Now if only I could afford some First Legion Guys. They aren't very dramatic, but they sure is pretty.

I'll see you next Friday.

Take care,

Joe

I had to take one last picture of the Zouaves with the IR zouaves that John O'Brien painted for me a number of years ago in the background.
