My brother came by today and said he was cleaning out his apartment and found these old cards that was collected by my older brothers in the 1960's. I was overwhelmed with joy when I saw them. I thought someone threw them out ages ago to be never seen again. Check it out. This is a small sample. There must be 50 of them.

These are considered by some to be a classic series. At the time of their release, the cards were considered too graphic. My cousin collected them, and many years later, I have toyed with the idea of finding all of the releases, for old time sake..Michael

I thought you might like to see a picture of the box that the original cards were supplied in, there is even some gum left:eek:

Whoa! Deja Vu, dudes. I have a whole set of these, in plastic sheets, in my home, somewhere. Collected these as a kid and loved them, especially the gore. Very colorful series. They are considered classics and are a little pricey to collect now-a-days. Great find you got there. -- Al

I remember the civil war money, but that's gone. I counted the civil war cards and I missing like only 5-cards of, I believe, 88-cards. I brother also gave me these Martian invasion cards, which I'll post some pics later. We had WWII airplane cards, but I'm pretty sure those are gone.

What was fun was that with the MARX Civil War play set you could recreate some of the action in the cards with the chevaux de frise.

Those Martian cards were great, too. If I remember correctly, they were just as gory as the ACW cards and also caused controversy because of that. Used to collect them but they are long gone. Deathrays and bloody guts, an unbeatable combo. -- Al

Another great set of cards was the U.S.M.C. set that depicted the history of the Marine Corp.
