CJB Models: Colin J. Burkill's Individually Hand Cast Masterpieces (1 Viewer)

Mr. Burkill is the best! He responded to my request, and sold me the two figure sets which go with the Office Truck for a very reasonable price.:wink2:

Possibly the only time in history that someone has been pleased to see more pen pushers;-)
You'd better get your 1:32nd scale pen out to make some tiny papers for them to file.
Mine came glued to the desk tops.
Which is good filing system when working in the field.

Having fallen in love with Interwar's magnificent crew for the Morris CS8 Office Truck, I tried to replicate the crew with some other CJB Models figures borrowed from other sets. It's obviously not as good, but it was the best I could do:

That's what I like to see - improvisation! Excellent Louis - and gives you quite a unique piece when displayed that way. Well done! jb

Your truck came with some of the extra details that make manufacturers like CJB Models and Heco Tinplate Models so special. Each model is a little different, so each is unique. I see the same uniqueness in Bruce Hebron's Metalshed Models, and in the early production (pre-1999) King & Country wood models and figures. That's why these manufacturers stand out for me: they are more than collectibles, they are works of art.:wink2:

The figure sets arrived today, and, to my pleasant surprise, Mr. Burkill included tiny sheets of paper, some of which had tiny lines of writing along with the figures, rifles, helmets, hat folding table and folding chairs . . . they look terrific displayed with the office truck.^&cool I'll post some photos tomorrow.:smile2:

Here are some shots of my version of Interwar's wonderful Office Truck and figures:

I've managed to obtain my first CJB Model in RAF markings: a wonderful RAF Ambulance.:smile2: Photos to follow upon receipt.:wink2:

To photograph my new CJB RAF Ambulance, I set up examples of all my favorite glossy manufacturers to address the RAF on one of Nick from Crown Miniatures lovely airfield dioramas. In addition to the CJB Models RAF Ambulance and the CJB Models Mobile Canteen, there is a classic K&C wood warbird of a Spitfire Mk V, a glossy K&C RAF groundcrew, RAF MP, RAF motorcycle dispatch rider and Captain Clark Gable figure. From Heco Tinplate Models there is an RAF Pilot, Crewchief and groundcrew carrying abx of engine spares. From Yeomanry Miniatures, there are RAF pilots enjoying tea and a bun, and a WAAF.

Here are some photos of a wonderful one-of-a-kind desert Morris CS8 Platoon Truck from an auction that ended over-night. I went to bed the high bidder, but it was not meant to be - it sold for in excess of $500.

I just purchased a fantastic CJB Model I had not known existed, photos to follow shortly. The seller also had a Morris Commercial CDSW 6x4 Artillery Tractor‏, but I already have one, so I passed. Anyone interested who wants the seller's information, shoot me a PM.:wink2:
