CJB Models: Colin J. Burkill's Individually Hand Cast Masterpieces (1 Viewer)

Nice photos, Luiz!:smile2: I especially like the Morris CS8 Platoon Truck. The CJB Models look great with the other manufacturers.:wink2:

Thanks Louis, it is great to see that we can match diferent manufacturers and come up with dios....the kids love to build stories around the dios....as we did ( still do when we build the sets up...)...All the pics are at my public albums called Ambush in Belgium, 1940.....

And Happy New Year to you and your family, Luiz!:smile2: I have to complement your diorama skills.^&cool^&cool

Lovely set Louis :salute::

Those instructions seem pretty detailed {bravo}}

Cheers

Martyn:)

Really nice, Louis! As the father of a firefighter, I must admit that I need one of these for my collection!

Great looking set, Louis. Really well made and detailed. One bit of advice, when setting up the man on the hose line, his lead hand should be on the brass nozzle. Rule #1 is never let go of the nozzle. I see the B/W photo has the figure holding the hose correctly.:wink2: -- Al

I was looking at the wrong part of the directions when I set up the hands on the hose. The first part of the instructions (for placing the hose in the right hand) shows the nozzle extending past the left hand like I set it up. The second part (which I overlooked) shows you bringing the nozzle back and placing it is the left hand. My bad!:eek: I will fix it.:wink2:

Morris Battery Staff Car (I am awaiting receipt of the officers that are meant to go in the back):

Thanks to the kindness of Colin J. Burkill, who provided the castings, as well as Brian Harrison of Yeomanry Models, who painted them, I finally have the officers to fill out my Morris Battery Staff Car.:smile2: Photos to follow shortly.:wink2:

A couple of photos of the CJB Models Officers randomly seated in the rear of the Battery Staff Car:

Public service announcement:

There are presently a Morris D Type Battery Staff Car (495 GBP) and a Morris CDSW Artillery Tractor (450 GBP) on ebay. The prices are high (I am not the seller and am not bidding) but I am just putting it out there for anybody interested.:wink2:

The auctions ended (for the third-straight time) with no bidders. Hopefully for collectors interested in CJB, the seller will realize he needs to drop the opening bids substantially.:rolleyes2:

You'll forgive my ignorance Louis but are these die cast? Are the figures die cast too?

Brad

Brad

You are not ignorant at all, Brad, CJB Models are, sadly, not that well known. The vehicles are hand-cast, the figures are regular white metal 54mm castings like Trophy or Imperial or Classic K&C Figures. Each individually hand-cast vehicle, however, is as detailed as the really expensive die-cast collectors vehicles, with amazing features like individually suspended bogie wheels and individually linked tracks which work like the real thing (you can roll the tracked vehicle over a line of pencils and the tracks work perfectly).

They are pretty expensive in the secondary market some of the time, with prices ranging from as little as 80 British Pounds to as much as 330 British Pounds when several bidders get involved on ebay, but the seller whose auctions just ended has been trying to start the bidding for two vehicles at 450 GBP for one, and 495 GBP for the other, and there have been no bidders for three consecutive auction cycles.

Thanks. I take it you have these. They look quite nice.

Brad

Brad

They are two of my favorites, but they are pretty common models, and each should not command more than 200-250 GBP in an ebay auction, particularly as Luiz and I (two of the more avid bidders) already have them and won't be bidding.
