Just received a second group, and over all, very nice. The only problem that I can see, IMO, is the body color, flesh/skin, is much too dark... much darker than on the website, hides a lot of detail.

Looks like 8 of my pre-ordered items shipped yesterday. Looking forward to them . . . .

I got some on the way myself, maybe receiving them tomorrow or Thursday.
Really looking forward to seeing them up close.

I received my order and the woodland Indians seem to have a darker flesh tone that makes the details hard to see. I think Britain's should lighten their skin tones. On another note I got some Marine figures and the Chosin Reservoir Marine is really a nice figure. Good work on that one. J

Are the new Clash of Empires Woodland Indians darker than the three Iroqouis warriors from the Rev War range? I suppose I will find out soon enough when I receive my order. I really feel that the skin tone on the Iroquois figures is just right . . . hopefully these new Woodland Indian figures are not any darker, and if so, not by any large degree. I do plan to share photos when my figures arrive . . . . that should give everyone a nice comparison.

Hi Mike,

I am giving some thought to ordering some of the Woodland Natives and I very much look forward to your photos. Thanks for offering to post them!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Gentlemen.

The "Clash of Empires" Indians are certainly darker than the Iroquois Warriors from the AWI line.
Please see attached photos.
The center figure is from the AWI, while the other two are from the "Clash of Empires" line.

Both colors are fine for me and I think they are wonderful sculpts.

Kudos to Alan Ball for a mighty fine job !!!

They don't look too bad.I'll have to check them in the"flesh" when I get mine to see if I like them or have to get them repainted. The sculpts are great though.

Thank you for the comparison photos Konrad. They appear fine to me. They also compare favorably to many of the fabulous art works of Robert Griffing. My on line research indicates that the skin tone of Eastern Woodland Indians ranged from light to yellow-brown to red-brown. Certainly a wide range of complexion. Looking forward to receiving my order . . . . will follow up with photos too . . . .

I got 2 sets today,16005 and 16007 and they look fine to me.These 2 at least have their faces painted. On #5 the lower part of his face is not painted and the complexion is light.#7's whole face is painted but you can see at his ears and back that his complexion is not dark.I am very happy with these.^&grin

My order was delivered this afternoon in good order. New Clash of Empires figures a little darker than the previously released three Rev War Iroqouis figures. As promised, below are some comparison photos showing the skin tone of these figures with the Iroqouis figures. All in all, they work for me . . . .
:smile2: Mike

L-R: 16002, 18063 (Iroqouis), 16009, 18064 (Iroqouis), 16005

L-R: 16006, 18062 (Iroqouis), 16000, 18064 (Iroqouis)

L-R: 16007, 18062 (Iroqouis), 16001, 18064 (Iroqouis)

Of the new figures I received, 16006 and 16009 had the darkest skin tone, but as you can see from the photos the variations is not significant. Now its playtime . . . . will post some photos tomorrow of some vignettes/scenarios using these, and my Rev War colonial militia figures . . . . .

Just got home and 16002,16006 and 16009 have arrived.Like Mike I like these alot.Yes they are darker but indians come in many different complexions as you can see by Griffing's paintings.

Nice pics, Mark.
Thanks for posting them.
I really hope that Britains doesn't forget non-combat figures within this line.

Troiani and Griffings . . . . hard to beat their historical paintings . . . . Two of my very favorite artists.

I wish I had kept the indians from Conte's Rogers Rangers range.I bet they would have fit pretty good with these.Sometimes they are on ebay but I'm not paying the prices people want for them.Just bought this Canadian Militiaman off ebay.I will get him painted up and put with my injuns.^&grin

The "French Canadian" looks great Mark . . . . I am really hopeful that WB will provide us with some stellar looking FIW figures such as French militia, Rangers, etc . . . . In the meantime I will use my Colonial Militia to satisfy my imagination for both FIW and Rev War depending on my mood for the day. That's what I think is nice about the Eastern Woodland Indian releases . . . . . they can be Huron, Wyandot, Delaware, et al for French allies in FIW scenarios, or they can be used as Mohawk, Seneca, Onondaga, et al for British allies in Rev War scenarios.

By the way . . . . . According to the latest Treefrog Rivet newsletter, and also the WB website, this Rev War released Iroquois (WB #18063) is now sold out and soon to be retired. This is my favorite sculpt of the three Iroquois figures that WB released in the Rev War range . . . . get it while supplies last at your favorite retailer . . . .

I have it Mike.Here is a picture of the indian I bought on ebay like the Canadian.I first saw this figure on Planet Figure and tried to buy one back then but had trouble communicating with the owners as they are in Russia but now they putting their figures on ebay which makes it much easier.I have this one out being painted.Both figures are classed as 1/32 so I hope they fit with Britains indians.If they are a tad smaller I will put them in the background of my set up.I got the indian pretty quick,I just hope the Canadian gets though the war zone!{eek3}
