I was at a Walmart last night and was able to buy 10 of the 1/144th range tanks for a buck a piece. Although I see Walmart is phasing them out, they still will not lower the prices on the 1/32 scale in some places. ON a previous thread, MOnkey Depot was mentioned as having some great clearance, and I was able to get some great stuff there, but shipping was tough. I do hope someone buys this company adn reorganizes it. That would be ashame to see the armor of this price and quality dissappear.

I agree. That sucks too. Being more of a bargain and budget toy soldier shopper, it is hard to find good armor at such a great price. I can by 10 panzers from 21st, to what it would cost me to buy say a Kand C. Maybe someone will do what Airfix did and sell to a bigger company that can remarket it.

Another message board reports there are only two people still employed at 21st Century.
I,m afraid this is it.
I personally loved their products. Best and most affordable 1-32 scale vehicles ever produced.
And my favorite was the 1-18th line, not the planes so much, but the vehicles and figures. I could never get enough of those figures.
About a month ago when 21st demise was evident I began buying as many of the figures I could get at a decent price, so I should be well stocked up for the future.
What a shame about this company.
I think when WalMart dumped them, that,s what did it.
They survived a few years back when TRU would not let them sell German stuff, but the WalMart thing was the finale blow.

I just saw that a company bought a bunch of the 21st C 1/18 scale plane & tank molds & will be producing them now. they're releasing a Corsair & P-38. Anybody have anymore info on this? and will the same thing be done with their 1/32 scale products. I'd love to see the 1/32 Tanks continue and see some new stuff come down the pipeline. Any news out there?

Yea, I read that too, but just how many repaints will the market bear?
I,ve been loading up with 21st stuff from Monkey Depot. Seems every week they put more 21st pieces up at great prices.
Gary

Hopefully they'll do more than just come out with repaints. I'd be nice to see some actual new vehicles hit the market. Maybe once they see that the market is there they'll expand & release some new stuff.

Looks like Burbanks House of Hobbbies has the first two up for pre-order. If you look under May 11, under New items the pre-order spotlight has the Corsair and Lightning for $63.98 and $79.98 under company name JSI.
Gary the Monkey has had some great deals but shipping has really been a gouging factor for most according to the Small Scale HQ forum. If I still collected this line I would have bought the 1/18th 88 and probably alot more stuff but I'm sitting on a collection that's I'm ready to unload. They made some great stuff for a great price back when but the space factor is getting tight.

At first glance shipping seems high at Monkey depot. But my last 2 orders were for mainly 1-18th figures and shipping was around $8, that,s not bad.
I,ve got an extra 1-18th 88, what 1-18th vehicles would you want to trade?
Gary

Anybody know if Monkey is gonna lower the price on the Opel Blitz or if anywhere else has them on sale?

Have just ordered from Monkey Depot following:
99412s1-marder-iii-200.jpg

German Sd.Kfz. 139 Marder III "Heidei" (99412) $14.95
US0161-2.jpg

8 inch Howitzer Emplacement Playset (20448) $2.95
US0114-2.jpg

German Sd.Kfz.139 Marder III "102" Camo (99413 S1) $7.95
US0157-2.jpg

Heavy Artillery Emplacement II Playset (20446) $4.95
US0155-2.jpg

M4A3 Sherman w/Dozer (22060) $5.95
US0153-2.jpg

Sherman Firefly Vc (22059) $7.95
US0083-2.jpg

Platoon Fire Support Playset (20442 R) $7.95
US0150-DD243-2.jpg

US Artillery Crew 5 Figures (20085) $1.50
US0111-2.jpg

US Listening Post/Outpost LPOP (20083 S1) $1.95

In all $56.10, which to me is a steal, OK since I then live in Denmark, I have to pay $90.17 for FedEx, so in all $146.27, which I still consider cheap for 9 "sets".
Now I only look forward to receive them in good condition, and I will have to see what the Danish Customs will change me, will let you know ones I get them.

When I have received my:

US Artillery Crew 5 Figures
I think they will go very well to man my Britains 155mm Canon

Have been told FedEx just delivered all at my House in Denmark (I only just ordered them 6 days ago), and I did not have to pay any Import Duty, so to me a very good buy :D

Not to sounds mean but I have found in the past, a bill comes separately for customs.

Hi Scott

In the UK nothing is delivered until the Customs charges are paid, and then Parcel Force or Royal Mail add their bit on top:mad:

Cheers

Martyn:)

Now, now Martyn and Jeff,

If we didn't pay customs charges, the government wouldn't be able to buy up mishandled banks and pay off execs. with 7 figure pensions for being incompetant.

Now deep down inside, don't you feel a little bit fuzzier knowing that you and 60 million others own a teensy bit of a major bank?
