Brian - I think you guys are on the right track. I had not made a purchase yet, but I will now that the scale has been standardized to approx 60mm.
The Torbuk series looks interesting. I personally like the face sculpts. Good Luck. Greg

Gotta say you seem to be focusing on our first releases. We completely re-did the faces, sculpting and paint on our new DAK. They look great now. Try to give it a fresh look. Cheers!

No, I was looking at what I've seen of the new releases. I will give them a look at shows, however.

Hi Brian,do you think you will be attending any London shows later in the year. And do you invisage having a UK supplier in the future?.

Rob

Hey Guys, look what I found on there web site this morning. ACW! Looks like I'll have lots to talk about today at the West Coater Show. It appears theey'll cost between $60-120 a set and they're schedule for release in May.

Check them out on there website. BTW, the Afrika Korp ranges between the $60-120 and of interest to me is the Flak 88mm gun is available for $120. However, I'm going to look over these open mindedly and I will buy them when they are available if I like them.

KC may be the King and he has earned that right with me and the collectors world at whole but there are some many wonderful companies producing so many incredibly beautiful work that we truly are in a renasuance. Enjoy it, it's like picking from many different beautiful automobiles.

BTW, ACW is listed as 54mm and Afrika Korp at 60mm

It could be my imagination but the facial expressions look a lot better thn the ones I've seen previously.

BTW, in the latest issue of Toy Soldier & Figure Magazine, there is an article by Brian Levy how they make their figures.

I'm excited at the prospect of being able to get a 1/30 scale 88mm gun at a decent price as there was no way I was going to pay for the retired K&C. I don't currently collect the ACW era-but these make it look tempting.

It cracks me up-I got into this scale because of the attraction of K&C (WWII) and now find myself getting into Honour Bound and now Collectors Showcase.

Into the abyss....

The price seems fine, but considering past comments I'll be waiting until they hit the dealers before handing over any cash.

Nice troops, I like the Cavalry and the Arty piece in particular. Always glad to see more Iron Brigade poses . Not sure about the Officer wearing gaiters though.Speaking of Gaiters, they were generally not liked at all by the men of the 2,6,7,Wisconsin, 19Th Indiana or the 24th Michigan.
Their Brigade Commander, Gibbon{ an absolute no nonsense, all regulation type} emerged from his tent one early dawn to find his horse saddled and ready for the days inspections, with all 4 legs sporting GAITERS! He was not amused.

Fubar:eek:

These are vey good indeed, much better faces as well.I really like the cannon
crews,different and expressive poses.

Nice work Carlos!
Thanks,
Ray

Thank you Ray.

I'm back from the Show and it was great. These figures have improved markedly. Are they KC? No way!

Are they worth another look and maybe purchasing them? Yes, in the same way that some KC loyalist (including me) are willing to purchase other makes (Britains, Figarti, HB, etc.) because they’re cool looking and appreciate different styles.

Same faces on these figures have similar looks as before, except they improved color to them and yes “eyes” too. Other faces are completely different and remarkably good with believable expressions.

Here are a couple of more pictures and they definitely look better than last September and far better in person.

The Panzer II is excellent, as well as the Kittenkrad and I’ll buy them and some of the figures too. The Flak 88 is nice and has the size to easily sit aside by KC, HB and NMA. It’s a model and has the detail of one that comes in two pieces. However, it has limited movement and doesn’t elevate.

Any of you, ACW fans that prefer realistic poses similar to that found in Britains and Conte? Then you’ll love these at 54mm. They should go very well with Britains, Conte and ONTC and frankly the quality might be better than Collector Showcase’s Africa Korp.

Thank you for all the reports of you who attended the West Coaster Show. I can feel the excitement vicariously.

Anyways I have a few questions:
1. When will the Tobruk series be available?
2. Are they compatible in size (1/30) with KC & HB?
3. Any pricing announcements?
4. Does the 88 comes with detachable wheels (I do not know the correct terminology) similar to KC?
5. ACW looks neat, but will the cannons come with limber and caisson?

Thanks
N-P

Hi N-P

1. May 2007
2. no problem, it's completely compatible.
3. see there website (thecollectorsshowcase.com), it's all price out there
4. No
5. Not initially, and didn't see them at the West coaster. Perhaps Brian Levy can answer whether it might in the future.
