So this is basically stock i had tried to set the decals earlier using micro sol. It helped a bit. Decals should never be just slapped on or you get what we got here. Silvery shinning carrier film that is very visible. I liked this because it was made in the US. Unfortunately there were some production problems and we don't have anything being made here anymore.

I flat coated the thing to see if it would help set the decals. There was a reaction so it did. It softened them up but was still visible. I carefully scraped away some of the carrier film. Then went to work with my paints and shades. More clear coat.

I still have a lot of work to do here. Lots of pigments and various texture mediums to add.
