Its a very rainy morning here in south central Wisconsin - won't be able to enjoy being outdoors today . . . . so I have some time to enjoy my TS. I haven't posted any new photos of my K&C Crusader collection in a very long time and after seeing Michael Miller's recent photos of his Crusaders I thought I would "play" a litlle bit with my knights and take a few photos to share also. Here I have King Richard the Lion Heart leading three of his more colorful knights into battle. I made the "ancient ruins" diorama base about two years ago using Department 56 pieces.

Mike...I have always liked your Dept 56 shelf dio...it looks really nice with your Crusaders...enjoyed the chat...hope you appointment gives you good news today.

Very nice Mike. They look great on your dio.
I have always loved knights since I was a young lad playing with my Britains Deetail knights, much more fun IMO than the WWII figures they made.

Thanks Michael, Scott, and Rod

Mike, what is writing on the gate?

Rod, the script above the Caravansary Gateway (Department 56.59916 released in 2001 and retired in 2003) is in ancient Aramic and translated means "Peace on Israel"

Nice diorama of the Knights. I still buy knights and I still pick up Detail mounted knights. Something about the age of Knighted warriors. I just finished watching the history channel on the knights and Crusades. I made my reservations for Chicago yesterday. Hope to say hello Mike. John

Mike:

You're right; that is Aramaic over the gate on the lintel, but it actually translates: "hot cocoa served here"...not sure whose twisted idea that was!

Thanks Michael, Scott, and Rod
