Spent some time this morning working on the base for my Cattle Drive shelf display. I have one more section almost ready to install but it needs to be trimmed to fit first. I'm still working on ideas for a backdrop.

Great scene, K & C and JJD have started to bring out some great sets that could be seen as non-military. With this range, Egyptian, the settlers, Gold Rush, Christmas, Chinese range and probably others i have missed. Would not include the 'naughty females' in this, no matter the manufacturer, those just do not do it for me.

Thanks Gents. Anymore I'm drawn to collect the non-military sets that are now being offered. Sets like these as well as K&C's Discovering Tutankhamun and TGM Professor Jones are among my favorite ranges.

Mike, this might give some ideas for backdrops, my two shelves are set as permanent and I have two I think model train posters, that I use for a floor display. Robin.

Thank you for the great ideas Robin. I've pretty much decided that my shelf display will be an open range/prairie vignette. As such I've been looking for an ideal picture on All Posters.com to find something suitable. I've found a few that would work but nothing so far that has really sold me. I'll have to check out some backdrops available to model railroaders.
