A new twist on selling off a collection. Tell the wife or significant other you are scheduling a beautiful/ romantic trip for the two of you to the mountains of Asheville NC. Lots to see and do here in the area, check it out. Pricing of this will be easy. Utilize Sager's Soldiers and Miniatures web site to look at actual pictures of these sets by number and original price. My prices will be as follows: Infantry sets will be the exact price shown on Sager's. Vehicles, artillery and motorcycle sets will be 10% more than original price shown. One exception is that any original price of $25 will now be $35 and this mainly pertains to all the Club Figures even CF001. I live about 30 minutes from Asheville so viewing your potential purchases will not be an issue. All sets are like new with most never being displayed. I also have a huge collection of Dragon 1/72 tanks if interested and many other military type toys, Dinky, Corgi, CDC Armour, Hobby Master etc. Yard sale in August will have all my toys from the 70's; Tonka, Buddy L , GI Joe, Fort Apache suitcase, Hot wheels. Too much stuff to list. First come first serve no reserves. Just trying this as a way out of shipping and the hassles involved.

So the list is extensive. This is just a partial listing especially of the K&C to give you a hint of what's available. Just PM me or ask and I'll tell you if I have it. Hope to see you in Asheville over the summer.

If you go and visit the Smokey Moutains there is a great little town called Maggie valley not far from Asheville. Great place to explore the smokeys from.
If you do decide to ship at some point , I would buy some sets.

Just to clarify as I'm being bombarded by PM's. I am having this sale at these prices to eliminate me having to ship items. At a later date I may open up to shipping but for right now I am going to try this avenue. Sorry for the confusion. Also these will be cash only prices.

I was in Maggie Valley when I was a little kid.My Aunt and uncle lived outside of Waynesville and the took me to Ghost Town,A fort where I had my picture taken with Judy Canova,The Cherokee Reservation where I had a picture taken with an indian called Chief Walking Stick. When I think back he was probably saying to himself what a way to make a living, taking pictures with little fat white kids.^&grin^&grin^&grin.

Waynesville must be a awesome place lol

I assume you know that the chances of people coming to N.C. just to buy your stuff are not probably too high.

Now you tell me; I just rented a box truck, filled the tank, bought some slim jims and a pack of cigarettes and I'm ready to go...………………..

Actually I remember it as a Mayberry type town but there seem to be a lot going on in Maggie Valley as best I can remember, this was the early 60's.

It still was a Mayberry type town a few years ago. It avoids the insanity that is Gatlingburg and Pigeon Forge. I hate tourist traps.
I have the same vibe on people coming unless, someone makes you a offer on the whole collection.

I tried to send you a private message, but it has some arbitrary time limit and it said I had to log in again when I tried to send it. I lost everything I was trying to send you. Would you mind sending me your email address instead to matara42@roadrunner.com so that I can send you my list, which has about 30 items on it, without running out of time?

Thanks.

Mike

Thank you Captain Obvious for your insight and wisdom . I really don't see why you felt the need to even comment on this thread and why people "like" your comment. I'm trying to give an opportunity to someone if they live in the area or happened to have a vacation booked here or close by. Yes people do come to Asheville and the surrounding area because it's a great place. Do some research. There is this little place called the Biltmore House and the Grove Park Inn. People come from all over the US for first class mountain bike trails, kayaking Class IV rapids and to experience some of the best fly fishing of native trout in the country. The Orange Peel in Asheville was listed recently in Rolling Stone magazine as one of the top five venues to see live music at in the USA. Winning Beer City USA four times has spawned nearly 100 microbreweries, distillery's and winery's in the past five years. Transylvania County is called the "Land of Waterfalls " for good reason. Yes there are also Mayberry type towns like Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Brevard and Hendersonville to name a few. Some people like to take a break from the hustle and bustle lifestyle of the big city and experience small town USA. Lastly the fall leaf change here in the mountains offers some of the most scenic picturesque views in the entire USA. Its like God took a paintbrush to the mountains along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Maybe I should work for the tourist industry :)
I have not seen any other sales lately that have older K&C armour at original prices plus 10%. Yes the older WS Tiger, Panthers( all three: tan ,winter and pea dot) went out the door yesterday at $100 a tank plus many other sets. DD012 Landing Craft set sail at $140. The forum members who I had no idea lived in the vicinity are very happy with their new items to add to their collection. I never said I wouldn't ship items, just not at this time because every item I can sell this way eliminates having to ship and sell it later.
George I would love to see you pull up in your cube van some day my friend. I'd have you drinking moonshine and eating barbecue just like the natives. Lol!!

Maybe they liked because it made sense, unlike yours. Good luck with your sale. Do report back to us on your success with it.

{sm4}{sm3}{sm3} There you go brother ;)

In fairness to Brad though, I believe he was probably just trying to be of assistance as he always does..................

Your strategy definitely has it's merits- I'm heading down to Sanford Florida and then immediately thereafter to Myrtle Beach for a baseball tournament and softball tournament for my son and daughter. I just firmed up plans yesterday with Donnie (Lenswerks) to pick stuff up from him real time down in Sanford. I'm a huge fan of the Carolinas- if you have any FL for sale, please advise. Id also be willing to consider making the run if you have any Britains Vikings or other TGM WW2 Romans or Greeks. Beyond that though, I absolutely do not collect King and Country.

Either way, best of luck. I hope it all works out for you.

Regards
CC

I was trying to be helpful but in hindsight I could have phrased it better. Apologies.

In the event the sale doesn't go as planned, one alternative might be to come to Chicago and sell out of your room. Over the years I have seen a few people do this and do it very successfully. Your only costs would be travel, hotel and meals. A side benefit would be meeting people from here :smile2:
