Just received my Condor Legion Panzer I command tank and the two tank commanders. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with these vehicles. In my opinion they are the best armor produced in the hobby to date, bar none.:cool::cool::cool::cool: I will have to take some photos of the original Panzer I, the prototype of the Panzer Ia and the Panzer I command tank with the tank commanders, and politely ask Brad to post them for me.:)

I sent Brad 5 photos of these excellent tanks and the tank commanders with a polite request that he post them for me on this thread.:)

Here are the photos. Nice looking release from John :)

That's a high honor getting this kind of of opinion from one of the premire collectors in this hobby.I'm sure Mr.Jenkins is feeling mighty good right now.

Jeff,

I have every tank Honour Bound made except the gold edition Sturmtiger, a First Legion armored car, literally hundreds of pieces of King & Country armor spanning the early wood, metal and resin offerings to the most recent polystone offerings, and most of the armored vehicles Figarti has produced to date. I compared the John Jenkins tanks to all of these, many of which were two to nearly three times the price of the JJD offerings, and in my opinion (and remember, this is opinion, which is subjective, and everyone is entitled to their own, which is no less valid than mine) the overall quality, detailing, weathering and accuracy of these JJD tanks are unmatched in the industry.

The weathering is amazing, its not painted on, it looks like they attached real dirt, grime and dust. The rust is painted on, but more realistically than any other I have seen.

There is interior detail within the turret, something I have only seen in the Honour Bound Gold Edition Sturmtiger at three times the price and the Figarti Tigers and M3 Grant/Lee, at more than twice the price.

The detail of the sculpting in the mixed media resin and metal format is the equal of the best Honour Bound, Figarti or First Legion offerings.

I would rank them overall the best in quality, and overall the best bargain.

The quality is very high and the detail is realistic. I'm not sure what they are made of - it doesn't seem to be polystone. They seem quite similar to the FL AFVs of which I have seen only the first few in person. He seems to have used the same materials in his WWI aircraft and put the same quality and detail into the aircraft as described in the posts about them.

I'm looking forward to the T-26 and the armoured cars.

I just sent Brad a photo of my new T26 on a diorama next to my other Condor Legion tanks, with a polite request that he post it on this thread.:smile2:

The T26 is sharp! John being quite wise, it is also a good deal heavier than his first tanks, and has a heft similar to that of a K&C or Figarti vehicle.:wink2:

Can't wait for the Lancia Armored Car!^&cool^&cool

Congratulations on that fine acquisition LB- looks great with the HA building too!!

Curious but T-26- that was a Russian vehicle correct?

That is correct Chris but I believe of British design originally.

Yes, they were provided by the Sovients to equip the anti-fascist (read communist as far as the Soviets were concerned) forces, but were captured and pressed into service by the Franco's forces as well.

The T-26 was the mainstay of the Republican forces during the Civil War and were a very good match for the small Panzers that the German forces had.

The T-26 was one of the best tanks in the 1930's and the only "real" tank in the Spanish Civil War, vastly superior to all other AFVs in that war. It was designed from the British Vickers 6 tonne Mk. E light tank. The first ones sold to the Russians were machine gun equipped, twin turret models. But most were built by the Russians and by far the most common model had a single turret with a 45mm canon and 7.62 mg.

Russia sent 281 T-26 to the Republicans - they easily outclassed the thinly armoured, MG armed Panzer I and Italian CV-33 Tankettes. A few modified Panzer I with a 20mm gun made it into the SCW but with their weak gun and thin armour were no match for the T-26 or Russian BT-5 Tanks. The Nationalists captured 178 of the 281 T-26 and were able to put 50 back into service.

With 10,000 built, the T-26 was the most numerous Russian tank at the beginning of Barbarossa even though it was obsolete by then. But it still fought at Barbarossa, Battle of Moscow 1942, Stalingrad, Caucasus 1942 and Leningrad 1944
