I posted pics of four of the new Heritage ACW cavalry that I picked up at the London Show last month. They were featured on the cover and center spread of this months TSC magazine.
I bought them primarily to alter a couple of the Reb troopers into galloping Confederate Officers (woefully short in any manufacturers catalogue). I thought of Lee and Longstreet. See what you think after tinkering and re-painting.
Conversion consisted of removal of saddle furniture/carbine/Texas standard etc
Grinding the broad cross belt into bino size
Troopers collar into officers collar extension of jacket and thigh high boots plus adding officers ranking
Converting saddle/blanket etc
Adding gauntlets with Lee holding one in his hand
Full paint job on figure and horse.
Similar exercise for a Longstreet conversion adding a glorious "Gettysburg size beard" and removing the pistol and having him pointing. Moving waist holster to saddle holster. Complete re-paint
Finally ended up with a couple of unique figures of Lee and his old warhorse Pete Longstreet.
