Excellent article, Richard really does and always has had enthusiasm for the toy soldier world. I am looking forward to the new sets, reading his passion always gets me excited for the sets. Among my favorites - The Roman Catapult, etal, Burning Log Update and Tombstone. Of course the additions to the Northwest Frontier look good to. They all look good for that matter.

Saw them Mark. Hardly worth a post given the track record and seemingly now all about plastic figures. Best thing about Conte, it will never have a impact on my wallet again, mores the pity. Robin.

I didn't get the earlier Viking ships but I'll definately want this one. The smaller size will also fit in behind my existing Britains Viking/Saxon battle. I'll just need to set it up as having grounded (?), with the Saxons resisting a landing.

What I'd really like is to see the TV and movie character pieces produced. I know Conte often shows such pieces on his site but probably for copyright reasons rarely produces them. I'd LOVE to mix these in with the Britains figures for a mega battle!

As for the chance of a new release from Conte, I would say you are wrong on your comment about more chance of digging one up from Denmark, I would say it is more likely of digging one up in Texas.

Here is the second one also on sale on ebay - glad I already have both! they are costly! Speaking of that, funny thing, the wooden boat is in storage, but I came across the crate of metal rowers today, oops, didn't mean to have them separated!

It is a nice piece and a rare one! Good luck on the sale! one thing about Conte, he made the best ships I have seen regarding detail and size, they are incredibly well done
