Conte Landing Craft (2 Viewers)

I haven't seen the items yet, but the photos sure look nice. They have both the LCVP AND the LCM. Wouldn't it be cool to be able to afford a beach scene with a couple LCVPs and an LCM? Conte is still large for 54mm, but not quite as large as K&C. You could put a K&C DUKW in the foreground, some Conte landing craft in the middle, and a modified FoV Sherman in the background and have quite a scene!

It does look sharp, and the price is good also. I hope somebody posts a photo with some K&C figures so we can see a size comparision.

Good point, I was hoping to see one at the show this weekend. No such luck.

a photo would be great!

I will ask Chuck to see if he can send me one with some K & C figures on it.

Conte also makes a larger landing craft (an LCM or Landing Craft Medium) that has no diorama base. This version was capable of transporting larger vehicles and more men than the LCVP (Landing Craft Personal). The LCVP was capable of transporting small vehicles like jeeps and trailers and smaller artillery pieces or around 25 men and was often called the Higgens boat. The price of the Conte LCM is the same as the their LCVP. Michael

Very nice display. I can not see a noticable size discrepancy with this combo..Michael

Anyone knows how the conte LCM compares to the LCM of K&C UK? The latter I believe is made of balsa and carboard.

Alex,

Are the figures in the back, manning the LCM, the Conte figures. Also, I think some of the K & C figures up front are the earlier ones and they are a little smaller (I think).

Ya it's got somethin' to do with the USN, so I guess I have to get it (some Napoleonic's will just have to wait). The picture really made my decision for me. I think it looks great and should go very well with the K&C Rangers as shown in the picture. Might have to try various vehicles in it, I wonder if the Jimmy fits? Thank you for posting the picture Alex. :) Michael

The Jimmy fits but it takes up 80% of the inside.

That's cool. Even in real life that version of LCM only handles one large vehicle. Michael

Here are a couple of photos Chuck sent me with some recent production Marines. Looks like it works well.

Really looks like a winner. Man I'm really running out of room.
