Introducing a new thread featuring Conte's New Civil War Range featuring his Incrediable Action Poses as I kick it off with the following photo with others soon to follow. I'm sure the UKReb is looking forward to their arrival along with others who've been waiting for the return of the series and looking forward to seeing them appearing in one of the Reb's chapters of his Civil War Diaries.

Those are quite nice indeed. Since you are now the ex-officio Conte representative Joe can you get us some more Roman/Barbarian previews?;)

I'm sure he's got plans of them making their appearance shortly and knowing the excitiment they've generated I'm sure they're soon to follow.

Are these Zouaves early war period or can the be used for later war period?
Mark

Joe - do we know when they will be released ?

According to the last word from RC sometime in March and April Ron and will keep you up to date whenever I get word and be sure to check his website from time to time also for his posted updates.

Good idea for starting the thread Lt.
I geuss the BIG question will be is what size they are?.
"Sons of the South" size or more inline with the older ACW sets? Anyway they look good either way and im looking forward to seing more sets by Conte

Looks like the 5th New York Zouaves. They were one of the few Zouave regiments to keep their unique uniform for the duration of the war.

Here's a couple of Conte's hand to hand sets that are headed your way.

Thanks for the updates Joe and I fear my plastic will be bent to fracture point over the next few months-as these will be the very first Zouaves in the Reb's collection.

Looks like I will have to knock up a dio of Gaines' Mills June '62 for these guys as it was that battle that put the 5th New York (Duryee's Zouaves) into the books of legend

Neat! I haven't see any figures in the "strike" position.

When Conte "does" do something it's usually very good.Looks like their back on track and that's very, very good for us.

Conte has always been very good at the hand-to-hand stuff. I love the way some of the Petersburg series figures look in my Pickett's Charge diorama. They add a ton of drama, as do the casualty sets.

I did hear back from Richard - he tells me that we are looking at late March for ACW to be released !

The reason why the ACW release was pushed back was because he has been working to get more ZULU figures out ! What the heck ! - Come On Lt. - let us Civil Wars get some guys too ! You Zulu Collectors are taking up too much production time !! - LOL

I am very happy to hear about the great number of releases coming out from Conte in the next six months ! We should have some wonderful figures soon.

Ron nice to hear RC got back to you and confirmed late March for thier release and there's no doubt your wait will be well worth it. It's only 30 day away and look what's headed your way that's appearing on Conte's Webmaster's Blog provide by Joe Baker http://www.conteco.com/blog.htm :D:D:D:D

Richard sent me more pictures of the upcomming releases - which I believe you have posted already - OUTSTANDING !

I am really looking forward to these figures and see Conte back in the CIVIL WAR TOY SOLDIER BUSINESS AGAIN - AND VERY STRONG ! :D

Don't get me wrong... I very much appreciate Conte's unique product offerings and I have a multitude of his prior ACW figures in my dioramas, but I hope that in some of his new releases he puts out some poses for those of us that prefer less graphic scenes... I can't see myself displaying some of those new figures... Some of them may not be suited for the feint of heart!

Also, I would prefer that he model his personality figures true to the likeness of the actual historical personality rather than an actor portraying that historical personality...

After saying all that... welcome back Conte!!! :):):)
