Jeez, after my reaction to the 2nd Moderna & every flu & (rarer) tetanus shot I've ever had I'm reluctant to get a Booster, but I will. Good soldier (well, nowhere near a soldier, but still) & all that.

But we must, as John of Texas said, treat this like soldiers (to what extent we can, which, in my case, I'd prefer not to be pushed to that ultra-alert state of bad-butt). With his posts, I think, we see that military-style or even over-planning is not a bad thing.

As to the others who have become sick or have sick loved ones on this Forum, I send my thoughts & prayers out to John and everyone who is suffering now. I appreciate a bad-butt who can relate his emotions. Moreso, I have a vague understanding of his pain and pain from a doc can be as bad as any. GL John! You are not alone and our thoughts & prayers are with you and everyone who is so sick.

As far as politics, it's only an obstacle now. Just get vaxed, says me, and don't blame. Just an opinion & hope all of you with more serious condtions than I have (albeit I'm younger than most) make it through this rough time. No judgements for people who don't show at shows.

The way to debunk it, is to allow a neutral team of experts to investigate it.

And follow the truth where ever it takes you.

Denying access is very suspicious and does not speak of open transparency.

Identifying the source be it natural or man made is very important for the future and not not just academic.

The Chinese Government has a long history of denial, same as most Western governments. They also make a point of blaming the other parties for the same perceived wrong doings, Russians have similar standard response.

Even if the Chinese allowed full access, which is very doubtful at this stage, you can bet there would be nothing like a smoking gun for any investigator to discover, just Chinese smoke and mirrors.

Too true

Also Chinese occupational health standards are a bit different

But why must we allow Western journalists and opinion makers to smother a perfectly viable hypothesis

What do they have to gain

We cannot hold communist China to account

But we can hold our own journalists and governments to account, and we should

Governments and Politicians can rarely be trusted, and Journalists aren't much different IMO. I believe the Scientists from all countries concerned had good intentions regarding the research into viruses in Bats and other vectors. As many of these viruses exist in Asian animals it made sense to base some research in China. In hindsight there should have been greater oversight of the research however it is doubtful the Chinese Government would have allowed complete transparency, and they certainly won't in the future.

Although we cannot Prove that the Chinese Government made some unwise decisions I'm convinced we should be very cautious about co-operating with China in the future.

Dr Fauci as Director of National Institute of the Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institute of Health (NIH), oversees Biodefence and Emerging Infectious Diseases as part of his responsibility. There is ample evidence his organisation was involved in the Wuhan research into viruses. However I have yet to see any specific proof regarding involvement of the NIH/NIAID in Gain of Function research into SARS-Cov-2 virus or it's subsequent release into the general population. All I've seen is maybe this and maybe that, sadly mostly based on political muck slinging.

you get the feeling he is purposely trying to spread Covid and kill people...

It will be interesting to see how this develops over time. I suspect there will be some subsequent adjustments to his 'Directives'.

The biggest possible man made disaster to affect us all since Chernobyl, deserves some sort of more strategic response

Hopefully there are some in positions in western security and policy who are quietly assessing and making some sort of thoughtful response designed to protect the world in the future

911 took them all by surprise, now this has caught them even more unaware

Princep and Bin laden are two men who we can say for certain changed the world

Not for the better

We can regard COVID in the same way

Where do you get your assertion that it is a natural event ?

People have been cohabiting with these bats for centuries

No zoonotic pandemic

Suddenly we have this one

The variant keeps mutating

It seems to target the human cells with quite eerie familiarity

If it is natural we need to be sure

If it is man made we also need to be sure

Why the rush to shut down one hypothesis

Because that may upset vested interests

Because we are so compromised economically and politically by our relationship with an obviously despotic albeit successful regime

If as some predict China is the dominant world power in the next fifty years we may just want to know exactly what we are getting ourselves in to.

COVID has changed the world

I do not have an answer but the whole thing seems a bit contrived
 
This crap is really getting out of hand. This is what I've heard in the last week. Cases are spiking but most don't have serious illness, hospitalzations are down and the death rate is way down, most are the unvaccinated. Then I hear 3/4 of those infected in Massachusetts are vaccinated. Then I hear that the hospitals are overrun and people are dying left and right. If we ever hear the real truth we wouldn't even know it.

where did you hear that in Mass 75% of those infected with Covid had vaccinations?
could you post that link please?

and I can't comment on left and right deaths...
that's a vague number to dispute...
but we are having people still dying from Covid here...

some hospitals in Texas are completely over run and asking patients not to come to the ER unless it is truly an emergency...
they are actually shipping patients to other hospitals that are not so congested...
this is on my local news every night...

one article claims...

CDC study shows 74% of people infected in Massachusetts Covid outbreak were fully vaccinated...

the other article claims...

The 125,682 "breakthrough" cases in 38 states represent less than .08 percent of the 164.2 million-plus people fully vaccinated since January...

one story says 74%...
one tory says less than 1%...

is Massachusetts some kind of anomaly?
 
For those of us who doesn't study all the data or don't have a lot of medical knowledge it can be very confusing. Just saw a segment on tv showing that most people unvaccinated just don't know what is truth and who to trust.
