Crimean War "Coastal 8 inch Cannon" (1 Viewer)

Nice work Jeff-love your set-up of the figures. However, watch out that gun crew doesn't hole your Nile boat^&grin

Am I going to see you at the London show next month?

Bob

Again, many thanks for the response and likes :smile2:

The JG Redoubt is a great model (and excellent value for money) and makes for a nice setting for the cannon and crew.

Bob, I can't make the show as we will be down in Dorset for my niece's wedding, so it will have to be the December show when you buy me that drink! :wink2:^&grin

Hi Jeff,

Bob Walker bought the Crimean War Coastal 8 inch Cannon diorama from King & Country in March at this year's West Coaster. I wasn't aware that the cannon was plastic, but I believe that Gordon's fort is polystone. I don't know how much the set costs as you bought it, but it might make you feel better about your purchase, if I tell you what the diorama sold for at the West Coaster. Send me a PM if you would like to know.

Best regards,

Mike

The latest Crimean War releases from K&C are the Coastal 8 inch Cannon and crew which I received earlier this month. Excellent figures and concept but being a metal collector I felt a little disappointed when I realised the cannon was plastic, but still a nice model none the less.

Anyhow, the question was how best to display this set along with the British Infantry released last year?

JG Miniatures Boer War Blockhouse base makes for a fine little redoubt which the cannon and crew fit into a treat. The green grass slope and raised grass base sections are also JG products as are the rest of the scenic items and backdrop.

Here’s the end result, and I hope there are more Crimean War releases to come in the near future.

Thanks

Jeff

I am old school....how can I pay the monies $$$ that currently are asked for these items and end up with a piece of high tech plastic ...... For that I would stick to my Tamiya and Airfix for a third of the price......{sm3}{sm2}{sm2}{sm2}.......

Right Terry agreed, but are 1/35 plastic kits 'Cheap kids toys' I wonder, again as you say some will adapt others won't, still not a big issue to me.:)
Wayne.

A few more photos this time with some Russian Infantry behind some improvised defences! {sm2}

Thanks

Jeff :salute::

Due to it´s generic design it can be shown as a piece in other Costal Artillery positions also.....{sm4}{sm4}{sm4}
