On the home page of the K&C website, there's a new dramatic display entitled Kingdom of Heaven. STUNNING!!! There's a château-fort gate + walls and a stone road. Can someone (Brad, Louis or Steven) ask Mr. Neilson if those items are some new SP stuffs?

Pierre.

Andy monitors this forum regularly so I'm sure he will answer. However, because of the size of that fort, I doubt it. It's possible it's something Gordon made or they acquired commercially. It actually wouldn't surprise me if this particular diorama is in Chicago.

We may not get an answer for a couple of weeks as I'm sure Andy and Gordon are probably getting ready to leave for the US and after the show, I'm sure they're going to Texas.

I sat and watched Gordon painting it on my last trip to K&C in HK. I beleive it to be so large it is purly a diorma peice for the Chicago.

It is very impressive.

OUt of interest we are getting a mass of interest in the Crusaders and have already taken a load of pre orders, what are the veiws of any forum members on it? For the record i like them but was not sure how they would be received

Tony-
Just speaking for myself, it is hard just to keep up with the new WWII releases particularly given the HB and NMA products. As a result, I will probably pass on the crusader and alamo figures. Would have been more interested in a WWI line or maybe some variation of the fields of battle (spanish civil war, eastern front etc).

Interesting poses, colorful, great looking figures, awesome siege tower, but sorry, not interested, strictly WWII for me.;)

Just as the slightest counterbalance...

The Crusaders are fabulous, and the upcoming Saracens look to be even better, if that is possible. I'll definitely be trying to pick up all of the knights and their opponents, and the Kingdom facade as well.

The counterbalance part...for me, and my collecting, it is virtually anything BUT WWII. That puts me well into the minority here, but there really are some collectors who look back farther than 1940. (o;

If K&C was able to produce and obviously sell this masterpiece, they can do a Kingdom of Heaven's gate with walls and a stone path for the collectors. I will, without any hesitation, buy them.

Pierre.

Pierre,

K&C's RO13 was so good that the AeroArt St Petersburg Collection rebranded a few as theirs (with Andy's permission) as the 'Arch of Constantine'.

Tony,

I think the Crusaders series will bring in a lot more collectors to K&C who haven't collected before or who've had to make do with Del Prado etc. It might also capture some of those who buy the $100-$500 Russian figures.

Regards,
Joe

I can assure you that if the K&C Crusaders -- and even more so the Saracens -- are as good in person as they look in photos -- some of us who do collect St. Petersburg and other Russian Studio offerings WILL be expanding to K&C as well.

I will have to get my orders in for the new WW2 pieces considering I'm not making it to the show. I considered collecting the Crusader line but really can't afford it right now. The only Crusader I have is the Club Figure CF003 which I will be selling or trading soon considering I won't be collecting this line. Actually I have all the Club figures, they are all very nice I will be getting rid of CF001 as well. We have a small show where I live and we trade all the time for other figures we want or need.

Joe-

I wasn't aware of that. Quite interesting when we know the quality of their products (and $$$). I feel very lucky that I was able to buy it.

Re: Crusaders-Comments from Buyers ?

I'd really welcome some comments from folks who have purchased from the Crusader collection. I'm looking to branch my K&C collecting between WWII and either the Napoleonics or the Crusaders (or...Romans?). The Saracens look impressive as well.

BTW-Why 1/32 scale ?

I have the MK001, MK004, MK005, MK006 and MK008 and they are very impressive.

All the people, looking at my collection, find them to be the most appealing ones (and after them, my SOHK figures).

They are works of art, their sculting being among the best, if not the best ones, ever produced by K&C.

One of my goal, next year, is to have all of them (when I will finally be updated in the SOHK serie).

BTW, take a good look at the Imperial Collection, the last two sets (Crime & Punishment and Chinese Horse and Carriage) are as good as the Crusaders.

Pierre.

I have all of the Crusader sets as well as the 5 foot by 2 foot Saracen Castle diorama referenced at the beginning of this thread. They are every bit as good as anything K&C has ever made, which means they are as good as you can get for less than the price of St. Petersburg figures. I could not recommend them higher. And if you love the castle (take a look at some more photos of it on Bill Sager's website under the Chicago Show) contact Gordon and order yourself one. Its expensive, but believe me, you won't be disappointed.

Thanks guys, the Crusaders are VERY impressive looking. And I agree, you've GOT to have a castle for such a collection (must sell spare kidney).

Has there been discussion around why they chose 1/32 scale instead of the larger 1/30 ?

I know I may be a bit of a lone wolf but I'd like to see all K & C pieces done in 1/32 scale which will save me a lot of scale worries. I suspect that initially the larger size allowed for more detail but as we have seen with the incredible detail on the Crusaders etc that the 1/32 size is no longer as difficult as it was.

Oz,

I suspect that initially K&C changed from 1:32 to 1:30 scale, as you suggested, for greater detail, as well as to set themselves apart when Andy launched the WWII range. I think Andy is returning to 1:32 with all non-WWII ranges for compatibility, but I don't think he will "formally" abandon 1:30 for WWII (although I have seen the figures getting slightly smaller lately, and a comparison of the K&C Winter Tiger to the Figarti Tiger showed no appreciable difference in size, so perhaps he is sneaking a little smaller with each new release).

Louis,

I hope the K & C 1/32 trend continues because it will solve more problems than it causes.

I give my vote to 1:32 scale as it gives you a wider choice with other vehicles etc.

Guys

I beleive the 1/32 scale was to fit in with all other crusader manafacturers.
And also due to the advance in production
Monty
