Crusaders ! (1 Viewer)

Do you guys have one these Campaign Tents in your Collection ??

I don't have them yet Ron. I am currently building a 72"x30" diorama of the Siege of Acre and these would look great on it :D However I have other purchasing priorities first such as more K&C MK figures (especailly mounted ones), and finishing my "Acre" facade with JG Miniature Old City pieces (2 wall sections, tower, and gate). I am taking pics of my progress and soon I will be posting them on the "Diorama" thread area :)

I am not sure if I posted this little diorama of the "Dealer Figures" and the Dept 56 Well Set. I call it : THE BATTLE OF WATER

Very nice looking - I am really pleased how the dept56 palm trees look with the K&C figures.

Now on the homepage of K&C HK, the new line of crusaders. Not quite what i had expected! :(

The Saracens allthough is quite nice and seems realistic, but the Knights are awful.

Not good enough Andy!

I want crusader with red crosses - red crosses - red crosses!

But even so - before X-mas, all from the new line will probably be at my address!

Interesting, I think the knights are the best done to date in this series. I guess it just confirms what good ol Dirty Harry says about opinions.;):D

must agree that the new crusaders are spectacular. i am going to buy some of them even though it is new ground for me and other areas (ww2) will suffer. nice work KC! - lancer

I agree.
Just my opinion of course, but I think the new Crusaders look spectacular. With slight repaint jobs they would also pass muster as Knights from the Scottish Wars of Independence.
I also like the new Saracen archers. Have been looking forward to these being released for some time now.

Cheers

Seems i stuck my hand into the Hornets nest!!

Can we agree on one thing! The new figures are Knights and not Crusaders!!

Thought the series was "Crusaders and Saracens"!

As Knights the figures are nice and well done - but to call them crusaders! I won´t!

In fact - this guy MK056 "Duke Boris of Saxony " - his coat of arms is almost identical to the coat of arms from the German town Lübeck! Not much of a crusader! Nice, but again - no crusader!

I rest my case!

No hornets nest intended, I was reacting to the quality of the poses and painting. Are you saying that no Crusaders ever fought under thier own colors, if so I certainly understand your point. On a positive note however, repainting a crusader shield is likely the easiest paint job you could find for these purposes, no?

No i´m not! But it might come from, that the real crusaders - in my eyes - were the Templars! They dressed identical! :)

Lots of Knights who fought in the Holy Land used their own coat of arms (Richard Lionheart for one), but i strongly think, if MK056 "Boris" fought in the Holy Land, coming from Lübeck (due to his COA) - the possibility of him using the COA with a black cross would be much higher!

The black cross was used by the Deutsche Orden - "The Teutonics" founded in the German cities Bremen and Lübeck in 1189-1190. In fact, their first HQ was based in Acre!

And to the secound part of your answer!

No - i could never imagne to re-paint the magnificent work from K&C!

But lets stop the debate - we doo agree on one thing - the figures are great! And as i wrote - they will probably be in my display be4 X-mas! :D

Now, now, boys - calm down. We're all agreed that the new "Crusader" sculpts are great.
While I myself would have preferred some Templars (and Hospitallers) a dab of paint can hide a lot of perceived sins.

Ayyyugh.....It's....."Nice Heid" creeping out of it's box again.....:eek::eek:

Are you suggesting I was not being nice Harry? Should I send roses next time?;):D

Well Spit-oh,
I thought you were very NICE in your responses to my mate The Templar. Honest guvner, I think we're all singing the same tune here.
The new Crusader figures are very nice - they're just not Templars or Hospitallers - that's all.
Now, wasn't that a "nice" thing for the likes of me to say...???

Cheers :)

Ah it was very nice, most impressive. Of course I was just having you on for a bit of fun, which is OK and is in fact authorized by the rules (I checked);) Of course if my fun offended or insulted you in any way I do apologize deeply. It is important to have fun where you can here, never can tell when you might experience a threadous interruptus.;)

No question on the Crusaders, frankly I love those red crosses too.

Just a quick follow-up!

I´m neither offended nor insulted - in fact i´m happy to see the new Figures!

Me too was just hoping for red crosses! ;)

And i have just asked Spitfrnd to become a friend, so ...... ! :)

I really like the new releases - but, I do think that a release of the TEMPLAR KNIGHTS would be a very big hit. Especially with the popularity of of the Da Vinci Code ! ;)
